More good news....opinion on strategy

I just got word that the guys who've been leasing the land adjacent to the new land I acquired got booted off, this year (they have a very unsavory reputation).
Landowner supposedly isn't allowing ANYONE to hunt, this year.....and from what I hear that may be a longstanding rule. He lives on the property....and got tired of the masses the guys kept bringing in there. This may play to my advantage in many ways in the future.
But for now......the red lines are land I have access to. The acqua lines are the land where no one will be hunting. I have to think the yellow line from the beans to the bedding area will be a good producer.....AND that the SW corner of the upper left red area would be a good spot during the mast crops AND the rut.
Whatcha think?

That looks like a real good option. Are there bedding areas directly south? Or to the east off the map?
I like the upper right most stand for a rut stand. And I think that corner where the yellow cuts thru will be a good one.
You have the same “choppy” land problem I have. Just once would I like to hunt about 6 connecting properties, rather than checker-boarding around.

This is the area we talked about on the phone last night, Ryan.
Yes. I like the upper right stand, also. Rob and I were turkey hunting in there when we filmed our hunt, this year....and we saw deer, regularly. The West, upper property is what's intriguing me, now.
There are NO "known" bedding areas to the south of the map. If they're there....I haven't found them. But there's an oak ridge that will be great in October....and a spot between between a bedding area and there that grizz picked out that we both think is gonna be hot. I'll amend the map to show those.
Other bedding area now shown....and the white "dot" is where I'm talking about putting a stand when Oct. rolls around.
East....off the map.....YES. That entire are to the SE is a cutover. I know they're bedding in there, too. I feel like this is my best chance on the east side of the road for having a buck bedding area.

Sweet, that oak ridge explains all the stands down there and rightly so.
Having bedding to the east is good, but will be tricky with a prevailing west wind. Do you ever get a NE or SE one? Oddly enough(and fortunately) we seem to get them more than expected….which for me is good cause my lands are laid out for east winds. But I digress. You should be able to work them on a N or S ‘cross’ wind as well from that side.
On last thing about that no hunting land. Picking a spot above your yellow line along the property border could work out well for a rut spot being on the downwind side of a bedding area for bucks scent checking it.

1. That will be nice. I have a question, Do you think that this also may harm you in the scense that deer will not be pressured in there, and then come onto your property?
2. It seems that you know your land very well and have patterned the deer execellent.
3. Good luck this season.

I don't understand your question, BT.

Mabey I'm thinking shotgun season but, where I live, when people spook deer on the surounding properties they run onto yours, Is it possible that the deer will take refuge on the land not being hunted?

Ahhh....Yes. I think that's a distinct possibility. I also know they have to eat.....and that I have food
.
I see your point, though.
On one hand.....NO ONE hunting that area is good. More deer will survive the season. On the other hand....their pressure "might" work in my favor. Valid point.
I'll play what I was dealt. I have no choice! I'll also take the fact that no one is hunting it as a "positive".
