I shot that triple T ranch 12 pt. buck with a Remington super duper high power deer whopper 9000 and I couldn't have asked the Winchester magnum sliver tip boat tail bone breakers to have done a better job. I wasn't sure he was a shooter till I got a good look at him thanks to my Zeiss ultra clear 12 x 68 armor coated binos..... And when I picked him up in my Bushnell Cornfield ready range finder and seen he was only 641 yards away, well heck ..... I knew I had me a dandy, if I did my part. Thank goodness I had on my Scent away shirt and britches, so he couldn't wind me.... He was starting to get a little nervous as it was....
Hey Jim Bob ... pull that polarace big time 1500 cc quad over here and lets load him up.... Whew , Thanks goodness I got that Load-em-up lift assist attachment on there.... this bad boy has to go 500 pounds and I couldnt load a deer without it......
Makes me want to puke.....

either ya totally promoting some Piece of junk item/product which I don't need or want.
OH Yeah????
Well what about "the cough silencer"??? Everybody could use one of those

Eastman's rule, Jim Shockey is good too. the rest..mostly BS.
99% of those shows are about marketing dollars and nothing else. Can't blame them but don't have to watch them

How do you guys feel about the hunting shows that are on television now? Are they serving the purpose that they were designed to do which is to spread knowledge and inform people about hunting or are they now just advertising tools where high profiled hunters promote products and boast about kills?

There areSOME shows...Deer & Deer Hunting for example...that are quite educational and can teach me a thing or two.

ENTERTAINMENT thats all I watch them for! I do not watch them to learn or to be amazed at the bucks they kill cause they are no better than you or I just got all the right connections and loctations! Hell I could kill the bucks they do if I was in there shoes! Anyways they do not impress me!

There are some good and some bad and some in between. I guess it's all personal opinion time again on this. I used to love them all and bought dozens of tapes and later DVD's over the years. I loved the old Knight and Hale, Realtree etc etc etc. Today, well I just don't care for many of them. Where as I used to have the VCR set to record them all, I save the space now. They've all gotten just too commercial with their own calls and all that. There seems to be a whole new breed that thinks they have to be commedians and smart azzesss really. There has been a concerted effort by most to now include a cutesy blood or something. It's all about big horns now and not hunting. It's all bait, food plots, fences etc. It's not hunting as most of the world knows it. It's sitting in heated shooting houses overlooking 100 farm raised deer and waiting for the 5 1/2 year old Mature deer with the proper genetics or improper genetics to cull from the herd. And when these newbies, cutesys, or whatever shoot a big deer out of the 25 bucks they're looking at, the rest of the industry puts them on the ProStaff and annoits them "An Expert".Please help me. Either that or it's a bunch of dumb and dumbers like Wildlife Nation trying to prove who's the dumbest. It's not hunting. That's exactly why it's so refreshing to see someone like HBTV trying to be informative and really hunt. They don't try to be commedians or go into the weekly rant many do about "That's what I'm talkin' about... and BIG BUCK Down BABY etc etc etc. Most of the shows have taken a turn that will probably be there demise. The Drury boys had a heck of a deal going. Then when they started "Wild life Hunting Soap Operatime".... well I just can't stand it anymore. I had 150 videos Imailed to my nephew in Tenn a couple years ago. I mean videos dating back a LOoooooooooooooooooooong Time. They were all better than anything you see today. Videos from the original Realtree series, Knight and Hail, Mossy Oak(who still do it the right way along with Primos) I don't buy videos anymore until HBTV starts selling theirs.

I just DVR all of them on VS. and if its interesting I watch and fast foward adds if not (DELETE) simple. However, I do think its getting more towards sales not hunting which is sad.

some get on my nerves.. A few still have a knowledge building quality to them and I watch them regularly. Ive noticed latley that there is too much talking/advertisements on a few of them
