Default Public Service Announcement

By reading and participating in this forum for a couple of years, I just realized that many of us suffer from Sympathy Rut Syndrome (SRS). This syndrome's symptoms include:
1. Forum Addiction usually starting around Mid May to Mid July;
2. Buck Mindset Syndrome (BMS) where all you think about while awake is buck buck buck buck... and then when you sleep all you dream about is buck buck buck buck...
3. A need to be out in the field watching deer movements while thinking "I need to see MORE!"
4. Once you realize you have SRS & BMS, you don't deny it, but have no desire to cure it.

SRS & BMS both have been known to cause interpersonal tensions between those affected and those who don't hunt (AKA "The Others"). All care must be taken to control your syndromes when in contact with the others. SRS & BMS are both highly contagious amongst hunters and even though there is no cure for either, victims of these syndromes experience some temporary relief when one victim infects a previously uninfected hunter.

If you find you want relief from these syndromes perform the following steps:
1. See a shrink because you evidently have other mental problems;
2. Check your local sporting goods stores to see if they have a local chapter of SRS Anonymous (SRSA). While you are there, as the second step in the SRSA handbook you must walk amongst the hunting supplies without touching/buying anything!

THIS HAS BEEN A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT.

Try wearing boxing gloves into the store. You'll still buy stuff, but it will give the store employees plenty of laughs while watching the security camera tapes over and over again!

Research shows that when you get to thatpoint you are in the advanced stages of the disease and by federal law are required to wear a sign around your neck stating "SRS Contagiens are frequently emitted by this persons each and every breath. Please do not speak to, feed or encourage this person in any way or you will be infected too."

Sorry to have to tell you that....

I always knew there was something wrong with me. now thanks to you I know what it is.
I could probably turn all the TV's at work off from the hunting shows i put on them everyday. that would be a start. but then i would have to turn my tv off right now.

We're like lemmings marching to the sea, we know that probably this is not the best path to take as the "honey-do" list grows longer by the minute, but we do it anyway. Thus is living life with SRS.

Now that you know you have SRS/BMS, you can now validate why you are not helping out at home to your significant other. I'm sure they all will be sympathetic and completely supportive!

Don't try using this in the workplace yet. Most employers would not accept it as a reason for surfing the net and ordering things with the company credit card yet. We need to band together and get the support we deserve!!! Don't let us get shoved into the corner and forgotten about.

Do you think Jerry Lewis would throw us a telethon too?
