Public Service Announcement
By reading and participating in this forum for a couple of years, I just realized that many of us suffer from Sympathy Rut Syndrome (SRS). This syndrome's symptoms include:
1. Forum Addiction usually starting around Mid May to Mid July;
2. Buck Mindset Syndrome (BMS) where all you think about while awake is buck buck buck buck... and then when you sleep all you dream about is buck buck buck buck...
3. A need to be out in the field watching deer movements while thinking "I need to see MORE!"
4. Once you realize you have SRS & BMS, you don't deny it, but have no desire to cure it.
SRS & BMS both have been known to cause interpersonal tensions between those affected and those who don't hunt (AKA "The Others"). All care must be taken to control your syndromes when in contact with the others. SRS & BMS are both highly contagious amongst hunters and even though there is no cure for either, victims of these syndromes experience some temporary relief when one victim infects a previously uninfected hunter.
If you find you want relief from these syndromes perform the following steps:
1. See a shrink because you evidently have other mental problems;
2. Check your local sporting goods stores to see if they have a local chapter of SRS Anonymous (SRSA). While you are there, as the second step in the SRSA handbook you must walk amongst the hunting supplies without touching/buying anything!
