Now as some of you may know, I look forward to making a trip out west every year elk hunting..(gee what would give you that idea). My dad, who doesn't hunt, has gone with me on many trips to hang out at camp for some good reading, relaxing and watching the mule deer. He just turned 75 in April, and was not sure if he wanted to go out this year...
Well in talking with him today he asked what days would be gone and I asked him if he wanted to go and he said "Yep !"...now many of you have never met him, but in the years past in elk camp he has made many friends...good chicken, pancake syrup from wine, and I could go on and on, but one thing for sure, I enjoy the memories of having him around...and to me, its a perfect setting to have one.
I thank god for every year that he gives me and my dad another year "Up on the mountain"

I do know that last year will be his last horse back ride...he vowed to never get back on a horse after he felt like he was in the rodeo
It was really cool to have him along on the "packin out" of my elk

That's great, my father passed in 2000 and I cherish every moment in the woods that we have spent together...Kudo's to you and your dad!!!!! You won't ever forget those times....
