That's fine by me. I'll come back having learned something about hunting and maybe an invite to their Iowa slammer property, and you'll have a sore crotch from her knee after you try to make a move.

Maybe......but maybe I'll have learned a few things as well, and maybe Ill be moving in with her at that farm And my crotch might be sore, but not from a knee.

No worries bud, that gives us to plans, hopefully one will work bc I'll send you the invite to hunt there soon as my socks are in the drawer. As I would hope you'd send me the invite too right?

MH I didnt mean all farms, let me put it this way. Some of these hunts you see on TV are preserves and actualy deer farms. I know a few and seen how some of these deer are. You can set your watch by them. Not all TV shows are this way I said that. But a lot are hunts that are on property that isnt the NORM. Not grouping all TV shows together or all FARMS together. But lets be honest, some are this way.

Thats all that I meant by farms and tame. Maybe a poor choice of words on my part with saying Tame. But meaning they are a lot easier to "Pattern" or "Find" And come on, where do you go and see 5 180" clas bucks in a herd together and you pick which one you want?

I Know there are shows out there that arent like this, and my hats off to them! They are the real deal!
I agree with you there. There certainly are some shows that hunt game preserves and obviously this takes no skill or knowledge to kill a giant deer. If you can shoot straight, your going to have a successful hunt.

It just bothers me when people get jealous and say bad stuff about people on TV just cause they are on TV...i know that a lot of guys out there are handed most everything, but there are some that work their asses off for their success and it is well deserved.

It takes a lot more than hard work, sometimes it takes making huge sacrafices - jobs, friends, family, or even something like moving to IOWA!

Chuck Adams IS the micheal jordan/tiger woods of archery,, read his book, amazing man,, as the hosts of the show I feel they have alot of knowledge , but are also placed in some prime hunting area's and stand locations, draw arrow and shoot,we could do that,as forreal hunter, that scouts, reads topos, scouts, experiments and so on , best example would be adam hays,, he hunts land all over ,and not always through outfitters, and stills finds monster bucks where you and I might over look,, keep an eye on this guy!

I think most of the big name guys are the real deal. I think they are better than your average hunter. That being said, I don't think they have super human ability to understand deer and deer movement etc. I think they are good hunters that hunt in good areas and have the kind of success that you would expect good hunters to have in good areas. I have less than 10 days in a tree in the midwest and 3 P&Y bucks to show for it and mine was all DIY hunting. So, personally I think I could at least match their success if I was hunting the same areas they were hunting. But I am pretty arrogant like that

I'd like to know how does one get into that industry. I feel I am very knowledgeable about hunting whitetails. And have taken my fair share of P&Y's, ive taken big bucks in states that arent traditionally known for them, ones that would be trophies in Iowa and the midwest. Ive filmed some hunts, feel they are pretty good for DIY. I spend 90% of my spare time scouting and learning as much as I can and in the woods. Bow hunting is my passion. But it obviously takes more then that. Theres many guys out there that can say the same thing I have said. What does it take? Honestly? Reality? What does it take to do what they are doing now? I'd be willing to say there's a dozen guys on this site that are as knowledgeable as those TV guys, and are great hunters! What does it take for them to get thier own TV show? My first answer is $$$$$$$$$

I propose now, lets get a group of people together from this site, and start our own. With our resources of good private land, our knowledge, a good group of guys here in the bow forum could probably make some great hunting shows that would be hard for the corporate sponsors to turn down. Guys who do it without, the outfitters etc. Ok maybe im dreaming.....but maybe im not. others have the same dream as me i am sure.

Or maybe ill just wake up at 5 and go home to shoot my bow like normal.

You know you'd be getting an invite. As for the sore crotch, you might want to get a salve for that.

Maybe after Hunsucker finishes college we could all pool our cash together and buy a giant place in Iowa like those whackos in TX and use it as a religious write off where we worship deer. Those compounds are huge, could you imagine the QDM set up we could get going in there?
