    The closest shot I've taken was at 4 yards 2 seasons ago. It was so close I had to use my 40yrd pin instead of my 20.

    Ive taken oneright under my stand, but i prefer them to be about 15 to 30 yards

    about 7 yards was the closest, my first deer taken witha bow, spined her.

    I passed up a shot in '06 @ 3yds......waiting for a better angle that I never got. That's hunting.

    I shot the same deer in '07, though.....so it worked out.

    I'm comfortable with shot at 6-7yds......but nothing closer. Even at that range.....I prefer quartering away.

    I hate real close .... it unnerves ME, let alone the deer ..... I am a 15-20 yard broadside guy, as far as preference

    If I am on the ground there is not limit.

    In a tree, I restrict my stand height to 15 feet. I'd like them between about 8-20 yards.
