I got in a good shooting session last night finally. We have had winds of 20-30 mph with gusts much higher for over a week now. Last night things calmed down after some storms rolled through. For the first time in over a week I could shoot without battling the wind. I started with the recurve from 15' up a tree and 15 yds from the bag and I was pretty happy with the results. 6" groups from my treestand is more than satisfactory for me. I'll be hunting with this bow until I kill a deer this season. I'll be targeting does in the early season and then switch over to the Marquis.
After shooting 30 arrows from the recurve I picked up the Marquis and practiced from the ground at 30 and 40 yds. Again I was pleased with the results. Tight, fletching touching groups at 30 and not much spread from there at 40.
After the threads about tuning up for the season it was nice to have a relaxing and successful evening shoot. I try to shoot one of the two bows at least every other day and if I keep it up with these results the critters of the woods better watch out!
