I am Brett, from you guessed it, Illinois. I am 35, soon to be 36. I own a small business in the Southern part of the state. My job keeps me very busy, but it also allows me alot of freedom to hunt and fish. I have a wonderful wife and two great boys who are 14 and 16 yrs. old. I have been hunting since I was able to walk in the woods with my Dad and I started bowhunting in 1990.

Erik from Western Massachusetts. I will be 30 in August. Have been married for 5 years, have 2 beautiful little girls ( one will be 4 next week and the other 2 in July).
I have been hunting since I wasa child, but bowhunting addiction began 7 years ago. I would much rather hunt with the bow, but do gun hunt.
In my spare time way from hunting and work, I enjoy taking my older daughter fishing and weightlifting. I spend alot of time in the gym.

RE: ok, lets get to know each other

I'm 34 and have a wife and 5 kids....yep I said 5... I have a 12 year old, 8 year old, 5 year old (my only boy), and twin 16 month olds.

My wife is pretty understanding. I've been hunting since I was 13 or so. Actually I tagged along with Dad and Grandpa for years before that. I got my first bow for my birthday one year. An old Bear polar compound. Even though it didn't fit me I shot it anyway. I loved it. Still have it. Mainly I started bowhunting because I love time in the woods. It was an excuse to hunt more. But I got addicted to it.

I joined the Army after High school and once at my duty station I had the oppertunity to bowhunt again. It was a nice escape from everything else going on. I made friends with a guy that made his own bow out of osage orange wood. I always loved working with wood and pretty soon was making my own. I loved it and continued to make bows as a hobby. Its as much fun as shooting them.

I'd like to say I am all Trad but I like shooting my compound some times as well. But I love the challenge of Trad gear. I've deer hunted succesfully for many years and tend to lean toward simpilar do it yourself equipment over the newest fastest thing. There is just something about no sights, no release...etc.
My grandfather and Dad got me started hunting when I was young with a yearly gun hunt. Which was a guys week away more than anything. It was always a good time. I wish we still did it.

I have to many hobbies. Archery being one major one. I just picked up a guitar. Trying to learn that now and its taking up some of the little bit of free time I have.

Oh yeah. I teach archery to kids. I am a 4H shooting sports Archery instructor. Our club is huge. We usualy have 100-150 kids in the club archery is a big part of that. This year had been a bit lighter, gas prices maybe.I also just finished withteaching girl scouts last week. A conservative estimate is 150 girlscame through. There is something about seeing these girls go from thinking they can't do it, to realizing they can and can be good at it.

Well I'll stop rambling on...LOL Thats me as simple as I can make it.

Mike, Tim - you guys crack me up. Good stuff. And happy birthday Scot. 50 is the new 30.
My name's Fran, I'm 28, married, from Pittsburgh withno kids yet. I am the Undisputed King of Archery, which is pretty solid. I'll be the first to admit that it isn't easy being a bowhunting legend, because we all know thatfame comes at a price. The King cites as exampleswhat happened to Barry Bonds and the Rocket. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. You've gotta keep an even keel, project a positive image, sign all the autographs, et cetera.

I am the only two-time winner of the HNI bowhunting contest in the history of mankind. I am superman in camo.

I'm a Penn Stateand Pitt Law graduate - finally passed the PA bar exam.My wife was wooed by my great looks and elite bowhunting skills, but mostly because she is a gold digger (typical female)and hoped that I'd start stacking mad paper someday. I married her for her awesome insurance and good looks. She makes good food too (typical male).

Once his Majesty gets his license in the mail, he will be trading his crown for the gilded gavel, because he'llbe re-focusing his efforts towardworking in a corporate legal capacity, and not have much time leftoverto rule the internet hunting world. He will undoubtedly be busy trying to make money, while the Misses will be busy trying to spend it all. It will be a bitter struggle.

TheBowhunting crown will be passed to another, deserving member of this esteemed community.
His majesty, however, will continue to pile up championship rings with The Dark Horses, ateam of destiny.

I'm Matt and I'm from just outside St. Louis. I grew up fishing since I can remember but just got into bowhunting when I was was 16. I'm 22 now and have killed 3 deer, missed a few and am pretty much obsessed with bowhunting most of the year.

I'm a much better fisherman than hunter and can catch fish almost any day of the year but deer are so much harder to master for me.

I graduate from college next December with a metallurgical engineering degree. Currently I'm working as an intern for U.S. Steel this summer and making excellent money while posting on huntingnet.:D

I have a girlfriend of almost 1 year but it seems like I've known her my whole life and plan to spend the rest of my life with her.

I'm not exactly ready to grow up but I'm ready to start my career and move on with the next chapter of my life. The only true constant I'm sure of right now is being on the river fishing is the spring and summer and sitting in a tree in the fall.:D

Most of my free time is spent with my kids, my oldest son is getting into archery. My youngest son is the fisherman/sniper. No birds are safe when he & I get out the Daisy.[8D]My daughter just enjoys spitting up on dad, a hobby of hers that I hope is short lived.;)

I am Brent and I am 16 yrs. old. I am a professional fishermanI guess you could say and work on a charter boat year round. We can do anything from inshore to offshore and I have fallen for sailfishing, but it seems that everytime I get one on, iut finds a way to unbutton itself. THe same thing occurs with tarpon.I started bowhunting 4 years ago and really got serious, but I havent had a deer in range to my liking for the wall, but I did manage to whack a few does. I used to play baseball until I broke my arm throwing the ball from third base to first, mid way a scrimmage game. I may never be able to play again, so now I have taken up basketball. I am currently 6' 2" 238.

I like to duck hunt as well and have found a particular obsession hunting for wood ducks in my flooded timber pond. I enjoy turkey hunting, but I dont get to do it to much. Target archery is coming up and am improving at it, but a lack of funds has stopped me (thanks to my GF). Speaking of that I have to go hang out w/ her and that pretty much sums me up.

Brent

I'm Bryant from Perry, Florida. I'm 27, married to a wonderful woman and have a 2 year old daughter also. My wife tries to firearm hunt with me, but she really only goes because i want her to. My daughter is very interested already in the outdoors and i can't wait to take her hunting and fishing. I work as a environmental planner for a consulting engineering company and own a wholesale palm nursery on the side. I pride myself on working hard, except when deer season rolls around and I am usually hanging out of a tree or in the woods somwhere. Besides bowhunting I also enjoy running my deer dogs, and I am quick to tell you I have some of the best dogs in the state of Florida:D;)(haha, only in my opinion). I live15 milesfrom the gulf of mexico, so when i am not working or hunting, I am usually spearfishing or wetting a line.

I'm Brandon and as the handle implies I'm from North Carolina. I'm 27 and currently employed at Lowe's Corporate Office as a Forecast Analyst/Demand Planner. I went to College at University of North Carolina at Charlotte and double majored in MIS/IOM. I've been hunting for as long as I can remember. Took up archery when I was 11, but not till 2005 have I taken it seriously. My g/f and I shoot a 3-D tournament somewhere every weekend and I find myself hanging out at the local archery shop more and more as of late. I took my two best bucks in 2006, both being 8 pointers scoring (112" & 110"), big deer for my location. When the thermastat rises I'm a sportbike enthusiast, my Sunday afternoons are spent scrubbing knee pucks in a twisted mountain road far far away from the law. If I'm not on the asphalt, I can be found tearing up a dusty trailwith my atv or catching whatever will bite from any number of localfarm ponds. Top priority this season will be trying to get my g/f her first deer with a bow (she's/I'm excited to say the least). I also took my first turkey this season with the help of some friends and so I can add that to my many addictions.

Hi, Im Sarah, 22 years old. Born and raised in the beautiful Linwood, Renfrewshire, Scotland.

Been brought up with hunting, especially bird hunting or (shooting) as its more commonly known here since I was a young girl.

I also enjoy wakeboarding, jetskiing, flying, hiking and archery.

I work at Glasgow International Airport for the TSA (Transportation security administration) enforcing airline/airport security and I regularly deal with customs too. Exciting and rewarding job. My main trade is Flight/aircraft dispatch, in which I only have my JAA license.

I recently bought a diamond rock bow, have been practicing alot for going to Mississippi during October to hunt in my Father in laws 280 acre ranch. There have been reports of some nice bucks harvested there. My boyfriend is a native Mississippian but spent most of his time living in Kentucky and South Carolina. I have been there, but he now lives in Scotland with me and has never looked back since.

Really thats about it.

I'm Bryan and I'm 34 years of age. I grew up outside of Pittsburgh and started hunting when I was 12 and bowhunting when I was 15. I went to Penn State and got a journalism degree and then lived in south Florida for 5 years. After Florida I returnedto PA on the easter side of the state outside of Philly. In the last few years I completed my master's degree in network management and work as an IT manager. I've been married for 4 years and have a 3 year old son Matthew. I love to hunt and be in the outdoors. I have also started doing freelance writing, videography, and photography to start some new outdoor adventures. Outside of hunting enjoy sports, particularly hockey and football. I played ice hockey all the way up through high school and college and played a little professional roller hockey. I've started to play ice hockey again to stay in shape. I love the Steelers and the Pens and root for the Pirates in vain. I also did some 3d competitive shooting, but don't have much time for it now.

Once the king steps aside I expect to be the new
King of Archery
as my awesomeness can be matched only by that of the original king himself.

I love it when people ask me that, its amazing how many people do not hearof our hunts, we have some many foreigners here hunting especially Americans;)

Endless amount of game here, for example.

Red deer, Roe deer, sika deer, fallow deer, munjac deer. Hare, Rabbit, Squirrel, Fox and others.

Birds: Pheasant, partridge, ptarmigan, grouse, wood pigeon, dove, wood cock, common snipe, curlew (lots of duck and goose species that would take me ages to list some examples are mallards, golden eye, teal, pintail etc)

The following can be hunted all year round and remember we do not need licenses or tags here.

Fox
Squirrel
Wood pigeon (not to be confused with those feral birds)
Feral cat
Rabbit
Mink
Weasel
Stoat

I am also well versed in American game.

Hi, my name is Mark, and I'm 29. I am married and have no kids yet. This will be my first season to Bow hunt!!!!! My friendshave finaly talked me into it. I have been rifle hunting for all of my life, and really have gotten in to deer management over the last 8 years. I work as a realestate developer in Fort Worth, TX. I hunt in Uvalde, TX and in Sarita, TX. I have been a lurker on these forums for about 3 months now, and finaly started posting. I have learned more here in that time than I wouldreading magizenes for 10 years. I think that Bowhunting will bring me back to the time i spent with my Grandfather learning how to hunt in Johnson county where we actualy hunted. I have only harvested 2bucks since 2000 because I becamebored withthe hunting style, and I worked harder on the managemnet side.Of course we had to take a few hundred doe out, somy skills arnt rusty. I also really enjoy hunting exotics. sry about the spelling i just got the ispell downloaded, but i cant copy and paste what i just wrote, lol.

You know Troy, I almost played for the Cowboys......They were going to draft me but Denver picked me up right before they had a chance to. In fact I was in negotiations with both teams before the draft was even over so I kinda had an idea where I was going.;) My agent and I had already talked about it and agreed with the contract numbers Dallas was offering (little did they know) only to have Denver swoop in and beat them to the punch!:D

Another "Cowboy Factoid" I played with Tony Dorsett at Denver in 1988. Blocking for a future Hall of Famer was cool to say the least. I even went up against a future Hall of Famer that year as well when we played the Raiders (Howie Long), seems like another lifetime ago....[:o]Sigh........

He was very tough! I was slightly shorter than him 6'4" vs 6'5" but I out weighed him considerably:)I was about 310lb at the time and I think he went around 275(ish) but he had a way of exploiting your mistakes like no other, one wrong step and he used your weight against you and you somehow took to the air!......Don't ask me how I know.[&:]:D:D

I do have a pretty nice girlfriend and a 4 year old son who loves to catch bugs, so i assume he will be a good hunting partner.
