My name is Andy.... 25 years old. Born and raised in VA. Started hunting with my father before I can remember. Was carried, drug along, or followed Dad everywhere until I was 6 when I took my first deer. Started turkey and bird hunting at 8 (doves mostly) and duck hunting at 10. I took up bow hunting in college at age 18, and now I am a bow tech professionally and a free lancer writer as a hobby. Been published in a few regional and state magazines. Mostly I'm a waterfowl hunter. My handle, SwampCollie, comes from my favorite dog, the Golden Retreiver. My golden's name is Dutch, and he is two and half years old. He is a very gifted retreiver, despite being trained by a less talented trainer and flat out rotten shot (me). Somehow I manage to put 100 birds or better in front of him in each of his two season afield so far... anything to get the dog a retreive. While I love waterfowling, I'm really kind of a whatever is in now type of sportsman. As dove season approaches, I'll get ate up with it. Right now I'm in the midst of an offshore fishing binge and landed a nice 30# Mahi on Sunday off the coast of Cape Hatteras, NC. I bass fish in the spring while turkey hunting as well, and need only a Merriams to complete my grand slam. While I've shot a lot of deer with both bow and firearms, I mainly deer hunt because they are made out of venison and its something to keep me occupied until the ducks show up. I do a bit of competition duck calling as well, and took 4th place in the state last year. I also enjoy goose hunting and small game hunting. I am a pretty avid baseball fan and followed the Red Sox closely until they won the World Series and everyone else started rooting for them too. I still follow them... but I've started keeping tabs on the Marlins a fair bit.... no matter what though... I'll always hate the Yankees. I'm an avid reader... and I've often been caught with my nose in a book on the deer stand when an opportunity presents itself.... I guess it helps me sit still.

I'm John M, 49 years old and am an Assistant Plant Manager for a company that makes parts for Caterpillar. I live in St Louis County, MO along with my 18 year old daughter. I lost my wife of 22 years last Halloween to Luekemia. My daughter will be going away to college next fall so I will have lots of time to hunt.(Look out Whitetails)

I am a self taught hunter and have hunted small game most of my life and took up hunting deer when we started seeing them on my dad's farm in 1966. Killed a bunch with the guns before taking up bowhunting in 1993, after seeing lots of them in my neighborhood after moving to this rural area. Now totally addicted to bowhunting whitetails.Killed 30 something with the bow now and have become more selective in the last few years. I still kill a few does every year but hold out for the bigger bucks.

Usually go on a big trip every few years, been to New Mexico for elk, Alberta for Black bear, and fishing in Alaska. Hope to make it to Idaho soonto visit a fellow HNI'er and hunt some of the critters in his neck of the woods.

This will be my first year hunting my new property in Jersey County, IL. I am in the process of making it a deer paradise. Someday after my daughter moves out of the house I will probably move up to that area and hunt till they find my bones still strapped in my treestand.

I like watching Nascar & hockey. I ran track in college. Stayed pretty active with various recreational sports to the present day.
Born & raised in the Pittsburgh area, have an engineering degree, and it'll be 10 years this friday that me & my better half have been together. No kids, just a dog.

I'm Joe, I grew up in NE IA (thank god) and have since returned (and married) after a few years that have taken me from Australia to Europe to Africa (not to mention California and Wisconsin[X(];)). I am 6-4, 235, and the runt compared to my two brothers. I am just finishing up my Civil Engineering degree. I love the outdoors, and I love to bowhunt. I started when I was 14 and since I am now 22 I obviously know everything[8D]. Honestly, I love it so much because it teaches me so much. I have a wide range of 'other' hobbies - astronomy, reading just about everything, most sports, running, etc.

Marrying her came with hunting in ky on some private ground. :)This will be my first year hunting in ky and i just started bowhunting last year. I just bought my first new bow and am enjoying putting all kinds of useful stuff on it. Im a semi self tought bowhunter i have had no one show me in person but through talking to people i know and you guys you all have tought me ALOT and i am still learning. Ive been hunting since i was 12 when my parents got divorced my dad and i started hunting its something we could do together and there is nothing better. Im in Ford parts sales and my wife works at a grocery store thats how we are paying for our house we bought in january....I HAVE DEER IN MY BACK YARD:)God has blessed us alot. awesome thread and even better website you guys keep talking and ill keep learning.

Im Jake, 19 years old. Live 30 minutes east of Lousiville and go to school in the far western part of the state. Im a Biology major so school work eats up alot of my time during the fall and spring. I played 4 years of baseball in highschool, went to state twice, and walked on for my college team as a pitcher where I went 1-3 as a starter and was placed in the bullpen. I later decided that baseball isnt the top priority and left the team to concentrate on my GPA.

My name is Steve, I'm originally from Upstate NY.
I spent 10 years in the Navy and la dee da, I ended up in Kansas after hunting in Virginia and Maryland for a few years.
I have shot the same bow for about 7 years now, I really want to buy a recurve and just hunt traditional equipment....
I primarily buck hunt with my bow, I'm afraid of heights so I don't use a tree stand, I consider myself a real outdoorsman and I have some considerable woodsmanship skills I implement to my deer hunting.
I bow hunt up until duck season rolls in and if I haven't filled my tag, I grab my 870 and slug down whatever walks by me.
I spend 90% of my hunting season taking people out who have never had the opportunities to hunt or just want to get out and learn something, for free.
I hunt all public land and introduce people to the opportunities available to them that they may not realize.
I also take out military folks who just relocated to the area and want to get out and kill.
I really just love to hunt.... any animals there are....
I also enjoy a cold beer and large chested women.
I work in electronics full time and have a degree in software developement.

My name is Ben Meckbach and I am 27. I don't ever want to grow up. I have been stomping around the North Central PA woods for as long as I can remember. I currently reside in Hughesville, PA with my new wife and old girlfriend, one in the same.[8D] I live to hunt all fall, ride four wheelers all winter, 3D and fish in the spring, and stay on the river as much as possible all summer long.

I', ROBERT,from RAYVILLE,LOUISIANA, I'm 44 and been bowhunting since the age of 22,don't know how many deer I've killed,not because it's so many I just stopped keeping up with it.I'm married for 24 years with a 9r son.I just really love the whole experience of the hunt,I've killed a few nice bucks but I still get a rush when I take a doe and if that rush ever leaves me then I may stop hunting,but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I'm Wayne from Warsaw,MO, i'm 17 and been hunting for about 8 years. I've killed 8 deer, 1 with a bow and 4 turkeys all with a shotgun. I've killed 3 nice bucks(all with a rifle) one was a good 8 point. One of them scored around 130 and the other scored around 150.As much as i love hunting i drive a racecar like it a lot better than hunting. More of an adrenaline rush.

I have a wounderfull wife name Sandra[ i call her Sam for short], we been together for 34 year 26 married, i have a son who is 24 who right now lives in Texas and a daughter that just finish highschool and will be going to USI this fall.Over the years i've coach baseball, soccer,basketball football.Took a group of 9-10 year old baseball team to the state finals which my son played on,I also took a a girls 15 year olds aau basketball team to the state finals which my daughter played on .I love to hunt whitetails ,rabbits squirrels and also like to fish crappies,bass redear bluegill and some catfish. I hunt with a bow, 410-shotgun,muzzleloader.Oh and yes i will turn 50 in July i'm 6'2 230.I work at Best Chairs and i upholter chairs there been doing it for 26 years.

My name is Mathieu. I have been doing archery for 5 years now.. went to my first 3d 2 years ago and won first place. last year got 3rd, I was only able to go once.[&o]. I'm hoping to go more this year. I'm home schooled, I work in a lumber yard full time in summer and part time in winter. I play guitar currently trying to learn One-Metallica, I love that song and it's gonna be a nice challenge. I have been bow hunting for 2 year year shot one doe, bad shot, never found her:(. That was the worst feeling in the world. I live on a horse farm, my parents have 11 horse now, just got two foals this spring. Other than that I like fishing and machines:). After High school I would like to be a Mechanical engineer and design bows.:) So.. yeah that about all I can think of for now...:D

My name is Matt Millard, I'm 17 years old, and I'm from Blountville, TN. I'm very consumed in archery and every aspect of it. I love the technical and troubleshooting side of archery, and you can find me tinkering on my bow almost every day of the week, it's just how I am. I'm an avid 3D archer and have experienced some success in my short (less than 1 year) career. I'm an avid bowhunter, but I'm limited on access to areas. I try to make the best of every hunting opportunity that arises. I have taken 3 deer with a bow, and 10 deer overall. I'm working my way to being an exclusive bowhunter. I've yet to take an archery buck. I can see me being an exclusive bowhunter when I'm able to land a solid piece of land to hunt on. I work part time as a Bow Technician, and I'm an upcomming Senior in highschool. I make good grades, I never get into any trouble, and I just enjoy everything I can. I like to be with friends as much as possible.

I grew up in the very same Maryland area described by Rickmur in his post.The militaryhas scattered me and my deer hunting to West Virginia, Alabama, Croatia, Colorado, California, Tenn, Georgia, N. Carolina and even Puerto Rico (where the speargunning and rummight make you forget about bowhunting). Currently, the military is using your tax dollars to pay for my grad school education after 15 years as military helicopter pilot.

I have been deer hunting for 27 years, but I took about 18 years off bowhunting from 1987-2005. I like killing them with a bow, but I won't hesitate to use other, more modern implements if the opportunity arises.

At 38 years old, I am married with one daughter (13).

This site offers an incredible opportunity to share info/experiences/insight and I am thankful to be a constructive (hopefully) member.

My name is Jeff and I currently live in a rural part of Richmond...Hanover county. I moved here from Clearwater FL where I had a boat at the dock on a canal. It was a 5 minute drive (no wake zone) until the Gulf of Mexico.

I have always had a zest for the outdoors, including camping, mountain biking...oh yeah, did I mention Hunting?

I bought a Hoyt last year and fell in love with bowhunting. I have harvested several doe, and 2 bucks, all with shotgun and Muzzy. This will be my first year in a stand with my bow, and hooked already. M

I am very fortunate to have a neighbor/friend who is a developer/contractor who owns a ton of land. I have the sole lease on two of his properties wher I have been hanging stands, planting food plots, etc.

Im 40 with a beautiful wife and daughter.

My name is Brian and I'm 34 years old and I've been hunting for 22 years. I'm a happily marriedfather of 2 little girls 16 months and 22 months old. I work as an engineering manager for Daimler Truck.

In 1986 I stuck my first button off the knuckle and from that day hunting and being in the outdoors has been a passion of mine! Over the last 22 years I've harvest 142 white-tails with about 70 % of the killswith bow, Moose, Pigs, Bears,Caribou, Rams, Fox all sorts of little critters with a bow and gun too....Even though I have seen alot of animals on the ground,I still make mistakes and screw up....It brings me back every year with more and more passion...I'm not a man with many monsters on my wall...partly due to my hunting situtation and my restriction to spend a great deal of time scouting....Nowadays I'm likely to be spending a week at Disney world:)

I am also a closet traditional guy..and I've landed a handful of deer and exotics with flint heads and cedar....
I have a passion for making video production of my hunts which I started in 1999.

I'm an open minded guy and I love to learn new things..I have a hyper side to me when the hunting stories get rolling...I love it! I would be the guy sitting over an open fire chewing grizz and drinking bush light or Corona,and listening to your stories and sharing mine...whether I'm looking out acrossed a mountain, riding my ATV, smoking a plump doe, or watching an arrow pop through the lungs....I'm happy, under any circumstance that involves the outdoors and hunting.

My name is Derek from southeast MO. I'm 34 years old....married....two boys that are 5 and 3 and have a third boy on the way that should arrive in the nextfew weeks. I make a living as a financial advisor. Started hunting at 7 years old when I got a .410 for Christmas. The first animal I killed was a squirrel. Got my first bow at 10 and the first animal I killed with my bow was a groundhog. I've been bowhunting deer since I was 15. Imainlyhunt private land in MO that my family or I own. I lease some ground in IL as well. I've killed quite a few deer and a handfull of nice deer, my biggest being 150 class ten-point. I enjoy dove hunting as well.

My name is Jason Lawrence and Hunting saved my life. No seriously it did, I used to work in nightclubs as a bouncer and was on a vicious road to destruction when I found hunting back in 2000 and have been climbing ever since.

When I was a teenager I competed at the national level racing BMX bikes, the highlight of that was getting all the free Mountain Dew I could drink while sponsored by them and of course getting all my races and bikes paid for, wish I had that with Bowhunting.[:@]

I also ran a snowboard shop for seven years and nearly got into the whole gatebashing scene as a snowboarder until the shop owner I worked for drove me nuts and I walked away from the job and sport. That job also afforded me all the free snowboarding stuff I wanted, wish I had that with bowhunting.[:@]

After the snowboarding thing I got into working out, then power lifting but never competed. I also got into the night club scene and all that goes with that. Worked at several clubs including a few appearances at the famous Chicago Crow Bar. That grew old and got me into my first marriage which was a disaster but I did have a father in law that I shared my growing bowhunting passion with until it ended.[:@]

Currently I am a call center manager and once again married with two dogs living an hour west of Chicago. My wife is awesome and lets me hunt as much as I need to.;) I have met some great people on here in the short time I have been on here and have a new hunting buddy thanks to HNI. I am currently 35 years young and loving life;)

My name is Bobby. I grew up in Central Louisiana. I have hunted and fished since I was probably 5 yrs old. I have hunted, trapped, and fished for practically every animal/fish in our state.(Freshwater only) I love to play guitar as a hobby and at our church. I have a beautiful wife of 19yrs who does not hunt(which is ok by me because she is still every bit a lady and more so than most men would ever dream of finding), a son 10yrs, 3 daughters 18, 14, and 5. (The 5 year old was my brothers, we adopted because of drug abuse) My oldest daughter recently made me Grandpa before I reached 40 (June 26 is my birthday).

I love to Bowhunt. I started 2 yrs ago. I harvested 3 does this past season with my bow. I am hooked and doubt I will ever gun hunt again unless it is with my children. I have learned many, many things here on HuntingNet. There is a wealth of knowledge among all who visit this site.

My name is Scot,I am from Woodstock NY.I turned 50 years old yesterday.I have a beautiful wife and daughter.I am a partner in a Property and Casualty Insurance Agency.I work a lot and get my most satisfaction from helping people.
Aside from my family hunting is my passion.Specifically whitetails.I am fascinated with them and I am constantly reading and in the woods trying to thoroughly understand what makes them tick.I have been fortunate to have a couple of exceptional mentors,men very much my senior who brim with enthusiasm when hunting and discussing hunting.
I enjoy both rifle hunting and bow hunting and would not want to have to choose between them.With the rifle I feel I can take it to them much more and cover a lot of ground which I really enjoy doing.
I have been involved in athletics my whole life and while I am no longer involved in organized sports,exercise is an important part of my life.I want to be able to give it my all for as long as I can!

My family is my priority. I started hunting with friendswhen i was 18 and have been hooked since. Been bow hunting since 2000 and it's my passion, could shoot everyday and not get tired of it. I still love to gun hunt for two reasons...1.it's still hunting and 2. i'm in the woods with friends. I learned everything i know about hunting on my own. so whenever i take game it's that much more pleasing. This year i'll have the chance to mentor two younger hunters on their first hunts. can't wait. i'm also looking to get into muzzleloaders for the challange and hunting time. i joined this site to gain more knowledge and meet others that enjoy doing what i love to do.

My name is Caleb, and i have been a member here for a year and a half. I started hunting 6 years ago for deer with gun, and switched to archery equipment 2 years ago. I have taken 1 buck, 2 does and a button buck so far. I shot a double bearded two year old tom in 2004.

I live in small townChatham,Ohio with my parents and threebrothers.Besides hunting, i like to fish, make videos, play basketball and football, and hang out with my friends. I just graduated from high school this year. My favorite band is Nirvana and my favorite movie is Wild America.

I'm Aaron from Virginia, Im 19yo at the moment, and work at the Post Office, and a resturaunt, bot Part-time. I have a wonderful girlfriend of 4+ years In which "one" day i plan to marry. Gotta get some ducks in a row first:).

I love hunting, I always have, it started back when my Dad would go out hunting and I would be stuck at home, shooting my stuffed Rudolph with a plastic gun.:DIve always been into the gun hunting, and will say that I feel my first SERIOUS year of Bowhunting came last year of 2007. I love it so much that it may be all that goes with me this year.

I come from a background without many strong ethics. But, I owe everythng to this board for teaching them to me, and becoming a more mature/responsible, thoughtful hunter. I have a new Respect for the animal that I hunt now, this site has really opened my eyes to see the respect these creatures deserve, and I THANK each and every one of you for that.

My next hobby in line is Trout fishing, it's what goes down in the off-season, mix itwith a little drag-racing everyonce in a while, and you have me...

Name is Troy Pottenger, bornand raised in Northern Idaho. 38years young. I've been known to like whitetails a bit, have a wonderful wife and two sons. Member of the Rut Junkie Crew and write for HNI's Field Journals. I love to hunt elk, bear, turkey and antelope, but nothing beats bowhunting a old mountain whitetail imo. Teach school/coachduring the school year, spend all my free time scouting, hunting or shed hunting. Run a land managment business in the summers i.e. logging, foodplots, fire safety, and I am moving into wildfire support. Oh yeah, we love the Cowboys! [:-]

Chad, Besides God and family, my passion is bowhunting & general archery. I have been married 12 years, and have 2 kids. I work in the archery dept at Bass Pro in Denham Springs La, and also serve as co-pastor and music director of the Crossroads Ministry, Zachary,La.
I have been bowhunting for abour 12 years. I have never killed a monster buck but have taken many deer and hogs over the years. I love archery and my fav line is Bowtech, however I dig all of em!! (cept one but I aint getting nothing started)

My version... Humerous, fun loving, hard working,humble, modest,shy= quite the stud.

Wife's version... A procastinator when it comes to working on the house, take scouting/hunting past extreme, a flirt, shewon't comment on the stud part :(, she says I am easy though :D, loyal, works too much andnot shy nor humble.

I am 45 and enjoy spending time with my kids/granddaughter, love my wife dearly who puts up with my hunting addiction and faults.
