It all depends upon what you care about most, if you want your relationship to continue with her I would go on vacation. And then as other have said you will have the entire rest of the seaon to hunt. And if she brings up anything about hunting too much you can point out that you missed opening day to be with her.

I know how important the woman in my life is to me.
She don't ask for much......but when she does I'm there.....and that's gospel.

Go to your future father in law, pop him in the teeth and in the same motion grab him by the throat.If you do this correctly and without hesitation you will have his complete attention. Torque his neck to about fifty foot pounds. How long to plan on being with your gf? I reason I ask is, if you don't think a ring is in the future, then I can assume you don't the relationship is that important and I would to hell with vacation and get you butt in a stand. However, if this is a women that you think you might want to spend the rest of your life with, I would say it is only 3 days of hunting during the worse part of the season, get you butt on that vacation and make her smile.

It is important to set realistic expectations at the onset of serious relationships. If you go, the future expectation will be that it is OK to plan vacations over opening day. You will spend the next 10 years swimming upstream to protect the dates that are important to you. Go hunting.
