Tred Barta question
#21
I like to watch the hunting shows. But I do agree that sometimes it seems like he is just flinging arrows.
Anyone see the show when he shot the duck in flight. I had it DVR's and watched the shot that he connected on a few times. It sure seemed to me that he was swining ona different duck then the one he hit. Anyone else get that feeling? I had to laugh because of the deal he made about shooting 300 times to get this duck, and to me it was just in the wrong spot at the wrong time.

He's funny, entertaining and makes some fairly decent commentary on life and the way things are. I watch him occasionally just for entertainment. As for the "Hard Way" That's bunk. Tred fishes out of a jillion dollar boat...the hard way would be going after tuna in a row boat or a canoe. That, I would like to see.

When Tred Barta says....."I like to do things MY way.....the HARD way.....the BARTA way"
Does that offend/threaten you?
Does that offend/threaten you?
Makes me wonder where we all get our ideas for threads here every day.

I don't find him threatening. I do find him amusing (sometimes in the "train wreck you can't turn away from" sort of way). I think he and Uncle Ted are in the same class. Staunchly believe in what they are doing and don't care much how others see them. You have to admire that at some level.

I have watched the show a few times, I don't particularly care for it. That being said I admire the guy for being who he is and doing what he wants.
He hunts sort of old school, like Fred Bear hunted. Ethics were a bit different then, they often took shots at game many of us would cringe at. This is also the way a lot of the current hunters hunt as well. I don't believe this site gives an honest view of the general hunting public, at least not the one I have seen anyway. Most of us here are much more technical and conscious of what we are doing. I don't really feel most hunters are like that. You have to be honest a lot of the people on this site are not really country people or real "hicks". Most work in offices and that kind of stuff. I would bet the majority of the real hunting public probably doesn't even go online, let alone spend half the day on a hunting site
. Most of my friends that hunt don't even own computers, and if they do they are not quite sure how they work.
