Tred Barta question
#41
It was directed (see the initial post) at everyone. I posted his trademark statement in the initial thread, also.
Are you (anyone) threatened or offended by his trademark statement? Simple question.

I watched the carribou episode and got kinda pissed to be honest. The flinging of arrows recklessly didn't sit well with me. Being a hunter in the burbs of Chicago is not always easy. I have been degraded because I do something that my forefathers and the native indians did throughout the land for centuries but now it is barbaric.
I tell people how ethical hunting is, how advanced the equipment is and how heavy the herds are. I promote it as a needed sport and share in my success by taking out friends that are new to bowhunting. I take deer sausage to work and the girls from the South Side of the Chi can't get enough.
I then turn on the TV and wonder if hundreds of non hunters across the country might have happened to fall on an episode of Barta flinging arrows or threatening his kid during a hunt and look down on hunting and the image I try to portray. Our sport is a dying one to some degrees and we need positive reinforcement on TV, not people taking pot shots at runing animals at 50 yards with a long bow.

I do not watch Tred Barta very often, but when I do I enjoy his show. Tred does do things the hard way & I respect him for that. The frase; My way, The hard way, The Barta way. After watching his show, I think he is telling you the truth.

Jeff do you think someone is going to "respect" you more if you go traditional? Fair question?
Neither he's a TV personality, don't take it that serious.

I have seen a few of his shows and I think they are fine for us hunters to watch. But I don't think it's good for anon hunterin neutral on the subjectflipping through the channels to watch. The guy is fed up with himself, makes bad shots and decisions. If he practiced more (which he obviously needs to do) it may not be so hard for him.

The statement is all I'm interested in hearing about.....and whether you find it threatening or offensive.
If your real question is is Trad the hard way, yup it's harder to master the a compound.
Isn't today opening day of Turkey for you?
