IMO......it depends on the birds in your area.....and whether or not the pecking order has been established or not (yet). Again....IMO......being aggressive with your calling (if you plan to remain stationary) will sometimes limit who (and how many)comes looking. So if it depends on pecking order, you're calling, do you get less agressive and more aggressive throughout the season? It sounds to me, like you're going ALL passive. If it depends on the birds, why not play the birds, and get aggressive when needed? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Jeff the turkeys have no idea if I have a gun or bow in the blind, the effective range of a shot gun is about 40 yds. My bow is 40 yds.

I defined what I was looking for in the thread header, Dan. I meant for this entire thread to revolve around bowhunting turkeys.....because that's the way I hunt them.

Once setup what are the different tatics in calling Turkey's with a gun, or with a bow.
To me with both you want to get the bird inside 40 yds, I'm I wrong? I am complete rookie with turkey's. Now with a gun one is more mobile, but you still have to call the bird within 40 yds.
BTW I am sure there are bowhunters who are just as mobile, I am not one of them
So with a gun I may "setup" differnet, but I am calling the same.Like Jeff said it depands more on the birds in your area.

It's pretty well accepted that bowhunting v. gunhunting tactics are different, Charlie. Like I said....I don't know of too many "run and gun" (not to be taken figureatively) bowhunters who go after birds.
