Now I don' t own one, but from what I' ve been reading on several forums, the parker outfits are some of the best that you can get for the money...and I put a large emphasis on " for the money" . Here' s a link to the Hunter Mag Outfitter. http://www.parkerbows.com/parker02_HMOF.htm Check it out...very good price for the setup. Hope this helps.

what i would recomend is buying a package kit. Then when you leave the bow shop you will be shooting and the pro shop will have you tuned up and ready to go. then as you have the extra cash you can upgrade your set up.
I recomend this because when the time comes that you want a new bow you can take your good stuff off and put the package stuff back on and sell the bow ready to shoot. Buy a new bow put all the upgraded equipment on it and you will be happening.
Just my thoughts on the subject.

Check out the Parker Hunter Mag Outfitter. Includes bow, fibre optic 3 pin sight, NAP quicktune 800 rest, peep sight, quiver with 4 carbon arrows and a release. This bow comes from the factory all set up and ready to shoot. $420- $450 I think.

My brother bought a Martin Tracer Mag completely set up from a local shop for $300.........with arrows and a release he was still under $400.
I have seen this price on the Tracer in more then one location so it must be the going rate.
The bow is short, light and shoots very smoothly. He shoots very well with it and he is a beginner last year.
It has a nice forgiving brace height but could use a better grip IMO......easily fixed.
Great bow for the money if you ask me........definately a great way to start.
Don' t forget there are a LOT of people out there that want the current best thing going so a bunch of used bows will be popping up for sale if you watch the local shops. Get to know the guys well.........they ALWAYS know someone with a bow for sale.
You may just find a great bow that last year would have been out of your reach.
Good Luck

I' ll second Atlasman. You can get a nice Martin set up for under $500. I shoot the Panther Mag and I swear it is the smoothest bow I' ve ever shot. I paid $359 for it from the pro shop and later found that I could have gotten it for $300 on line. It was worth it to get it from the shop as they have been really helpful about everything since then.
