I shot a dozen diffrent bows and picked them apart time and time again. I had it between the 82nd, the Katera and the Drenalin.after putting about 40 arrows through each I decided on the Drenalin. It is everything I would have hoped it to be.
Thanks for the input. I have shot the Dren as well and I too think it is a very nice bow. I considered purchasing one but there is no pro shop around. There is a dealer only a few minutes away but they are not a pro shop in my opinion and the service leaves lots to be desired. I shoot a Martin but have had some issues with it and the pro shop (which is super great) is, at best,2.5 hoursdrive one way. I have found a local Bowtech pro shop only one hour away that seems to be top notch and I really like the quality of thier bows. It will be Bowtech.

Thanks for the input all. As I have said, I will be going back to shoot some morethis week. As for now, I want to try the Ally and the Guardian. I also want to demo the Marquis one more time. So back to my question, since they do not have a 101st, can I assume the draw cycle will be about the same as the 82nd? MOhunter has replied and I am just looking for some more opinions from those that have shot them both.

Thanks,

Ed
Ed, The difference in the draw is next to nil to me and I have them side by side to shoot everyday.

If your just looking for oppions I shot all the new bowtechs while I was at the Ill. Classic MeanV set me up. I have to say between the 82 and 101st I believe I will be shooting the 101st when OCT rolls around, maybe it'show hold a bow but I loved how the 101st just fell straight away after the shot and the 82nd seemed to want to tilt to the side on me, But I still want to shoot them both with a stabilizer on them!! Both are incrediable bows and this is coming from a guy who has shot a HOYT for the last 8 years!! Walt

I hate to be a downer on the 101st, but I have shot two different 101st bows at two different shops and they both made a distinctive thumping noise on the shot (not arrow hitting target). The feel of the bow was really nice, but I couldn't get over the sound that it was making. Even guys in the shop made note of it. It was enough of a noise to make me look elsewhere. I have read on some forums about others talking about the same thing on the 101st. Maybe some add on dampeners eliminate it, but make sure you shoot it first. Haven't shot the 82nd to compare with. I usually don't prefer the short bh bows.

Well from a person that is really new to bowhunting and shooting. Here is my take. My Dad owns the 06 ally and has a brand new 82nd. The 82nd has a really small valley(really small),but Ican drive nails with the 82nd and it is super fast and much quieter than the 06 ally. So, this past weekend I went to purchase a bow and shot the 08 ally and the 101st. Both bows are blazing fast, the ally was the store owners hunting setup. With 60 lb limbs, wisker biscuit, not sure of the arrow i was shooting cause I was paying more attention to the bow, he is getting 288 fps. But after I shoot the 101st it just felt better to me. It was smooth and very quiet, where as I found the 82nd's draw not to be as smooth. I also looked at the matthews but they just didn't drive the arrow like the bowtech's did.

Basically it came down to me wanting speed, a smooth draw, light bow, and hopes of a little more forgiveness than the 82nd. So I bought the 101st.

Bottom line. Like everyoneon this forum says, shoot as many as you can. What feels great to you isn't going to be the same for someone else

The Question

I shot all three yesterday and was in total disbelief in how a guy in the extreme cold we have up here, could actually pull the 82nd and the 101st after sitting in the conditions of cold weather for 6 hours???? ManI'm not weak by any standards and am physically fit,but the82nd was the 1st bow I actuallyhad tolet go at about 2 inches left of the release due to the hard draw and release. I fell in love with the General though and thoughtwow, it having the 81/4 brace you could actually waver for a sec and still be on target and get away with it. That saying,I would never releaseif that happened. The general was so smooth and quiet though, I'd give it my thumbs up for approval over the other 2 . In my mind a few fps shouldn't mean a whole lot. Just my 2 cents. Just make sure of the feel in your hands is right, other wise you've made the wrong decision.

I'v eshot all three......and owned the Allegiance ('07) for overa year. It was fast. Real fast.....compared to most.

I shot the 101st. Good bow.....just not enough bow to make me switch from the Ally.

I shot the 82nd. Wow. 330fps at 62#'s. I bought it to shoot 3D and possibly hunt with. I bought the wrong bow for the wrong purpose.

I won 3D tournaments with both the '07 Allegiance and the '08 82nd, this year. They are both great shooters.

Let me say this, though.......I now have a target specific bow that is neither of the ones mentioned. If I had to do it all over again.....and I was going to only shoot ONE bow....for everything..........

I would buy the Allegiance and never look back. It is (IMO) the best all-around Bowtech bow out there. The 101st wouldn't make my list. My 82nd has found a home as my #1 hunting bow. The Allegiance is now with another board member......and I found a great target bow in the Constitution.
