What’s Your Favorite Shed Hunting Tips
#1
There are so many shed hunting gurus on the site, I thought it would be interesting to see what you guys have for shed hunting tips. Your favorite type of area to search, types of cover, a certain way you ‘grid’ search an area, etc.
Let’s hear it? How do you ‘bag’ more sheds?

Walk ALOT. Thats my only secret, and I have yet to ever find one in a field. I think the guys on quads find those before I do, all of my finds have been in timber along trails/bedding areas.

its all about feed ....you gotta be hunting em where the boys were feeding when they dropped..... many bucks dropped a month ago and some even earlier.. know what and where the boys were doing back then...
wear out a set of boots every spring...time time time..
dont get inhurry, slow down (especially when you get into a pounded area)and stay focused looking for pieces of antler not whole antlers.. the whole ones stick out like a sore thumb.. the small sheds and partially covered sheds taketime and practice for the brain to get used to regonizing them..
Rain days I love, the shedsshine..
Grid the your brushiestthickets meticulously... I found some dandy sheds on my hands and knees.. pissed I had even attempted to crawl into places... then again I've came out scratched and thrashed too with nothing to show..its part of it..
Try to find areas of lower human intrusion is you shed hunt a SHED HUNTING POPULAR state like I do.. shed hunting is a rat race here at time..
Stay positive, long days without any finds can be depressing, keep after it and remind yourself, even if you dont find bone...your scouting and getting great exercise
Good luck..

Use common sense. And walk until you can't.. then walk again. (repeat this step for weeks).
This along with what the others above have already stated.. is the best advice I can give.
