Todd... there is no post more deserving to be in a hunting forum; hunting is for most of us what tied us together with our fathers, what allowed us to observe and learn from them, and to enjoy time well spent with them.
I can't even imagine what it would be like to lose my father yet... and hope it's a long time off in coming still. Thanks for the tribute to a wonderful man; it sounds like he was very deserving.

Man’o man…
I can’t relate to your pain, since I have not yet gone though this tragedy. People like your Dad are what this country was built on, and make us all proud to be Americans and American men. I’m sorry you’re in such a huge amount of pain; it is very obvious that you loved and respected him very much, and will miss him deeply.
Go do what he would want you to do; take care of your Mom and his Grandchildren. Hold your head up high and be proud to be his son. Be thankful for the time that you had with him, and make him proud. Kiss and hug your children everyday.
Good luck my friend,
Sam

Gus, I know of which you speak,so rest assured that he is with you every day and is still there to guide you and answer your questions. You can still converse with him andfeel himwatching over you for the rest of your life.

Gus,
A loved one's passing does get easier with time but will never cease to come crushing down on you out of the clear blue from time to time.
Death is the natural end result of life. Find peace in knowingyour dadno longer suffers.
Any man who's molded a good man out of a son has fulfilled his destiny and duty. Be proud!
