do you re-use...

Auhhh, you stinking tightwads, you mean to tell me some of you spend upwards of 1000.00 for a rig and then would skimp on the verry piece of equipment that does the Killing? Shame on you, Shame, Shame on you!
All kidding aside, I have never seen a broadhead that has been shot into the dirt that I thought was sharp enough to use on a game animal! Im not saying it cant happen, I have never seen it.
I go back over mine several times during the season, they get dull (lose their fine edge) just pulling them in out orsticking them back in the quiver.
Seems like the more time I spend on maintaining my equipment, the bigger sense of accomplishment I feel with a kill, not to mention feeling 100% competent in my equipment while hunting.

Replace the blades, the actual head should be fine. The blades however, take a look really carefully with magnification. That one head that went into the dirt won't look anywhere near as sharp as a fresh one.
As a large scale example, a chains saw is really good on wood but hit the dirt with it and you'll feel a difference in how it cuts the wood!

Yes I will reuse a Broadhead, but only after resharpening it and spin testing to make sure nothing got bent. After all like has been said already, That is what actually does the killing, and I want mine as sharp as possible.

I wont reuse it until I clean it sharpen spin and make sure everything is ok on it. I don't want to be shooting a broadhead that is dull and full of dirt into a deer that i am going to be eating!

I have killed deer with flint heads and cedar arrows so you know my answer...I always clean my heads and throw them back in my quiver..I never re sharpen my expandles unless they are really messed up...At 280 + feet a second....you poke a hole in the fitals and the animal bleeds...its yours.......Think about what the indians did and don't listen to the over protective sharpening people....think about the basics of the harvest...You make a hole....the animal bleeds......good luck!!

If no damage to the head...I never re-sharpen....think about the velocities we are shooting...no disresepct on the animal...I have been doing it for years with total success....I use to be a traditional archer so I know the basics...poke a hole in the vitals with a stone and the deer still runs 30 yards and dies...

Its not for double lung punches and heart shots, its for marginal hits where a dull broadhead would push an artery out of the way instead of cutting it.
