do you re-use...
#11
I didn't until I started using the Rage heads. NOW.....if there's no damage....I'll sharpen the blades.....rinse it out REAL good.....then I squirt a shot of WD40 on it and work the blades back and forth. I let 'em sit for a while.....wipe 'em down....and back on the arrow they go.
I'm careful about it.....because I think it's important to be. But...I will re-use a head.

NEVER reuse a broadhead after a single shot UNLESS you resharpen or change the blades.

I agree with Rob and Tony.
Do Not reuse the head unless you replace the blades!! [:@]
Blades are cheap. They might still feel scary sharp but trust me, after being shot into the ground THEY AREN'T!
It can easily be the difference between a good, short bloodtrail and a long sparse trail with no recovery.
I don't even use the blades if they've been in and out of the quiver foam more than15 times. It might be overkill but it's rare that the critters I shoot even travel out of sight.

Rob DID say....unless you resharpen or replace.
I don't see anything wrong with re-using a head....because I can resharpen the blades. Also....I'd tend to agree that blades can be relaced fairly easy (not so much in agreement on the 'cheap' sentiment
)....UNLESS you're shooting the Rage head in 2007. I couldn't find replacement blades. Now I'm as ethical as the next guy.......but $13 a head for a
"one time" shot........I'm not happy with.
So......I reused them (SOME of them).....after going through the steps I mentioned earlier.

You should ask yourself one question, "What if the next deer I see is a buck of a lifetime?" Do you take a chance of losing a deer like that from a dull head? Then realize that every gameanimal is worthy of that respect, from the smallest doe fawn to the largest B&C buck and change those blades.

Well, the guy asking the question is talking about thunderheads. I have two blade heads for my recurve... I have to resharpen those.
My muzzy blades are 15-16 bucks for eighteen blades. I spend more on gas to get to and from my hunting spot.

And....to answer this question.....I shot the buck I've been after for three seasons with a re-used head. If I didn't feel confident in the head (that it was sharp and operating correctly)....it wouldn't have been in my quiver.
