how to become prostaff?

There are times when I ask "why would someone want to become a prostaff member". Is it just for the title or the free/discounted prices? Or, do you really believe in a product so much that you would be willing to work your arse off to promote it?

Thats exactly what my passion is - producing quality bowhunts to reflect on and share with everyone. I can't wait till i have grandchildres and can sit back with them and show them hundreds of hunts that i have experienced in my lifetime. To me, thats what its really all about - the memories. These just happen to be videographic memories so when my mind is old and worn out i can still refresh it!

I guess im in somewhat of a different position. Im not a prostaffer for a specific product. I am a field producer more than anything.

100%
Most of the guys who hunt public land and caore every year, are way better than 99% of the Pro staffers
Germ was saving that 1% for me

I mean no disrespect to any staffers, a lot of great guys and hunters. BTW I rarley hunt public ground anymore, so these guys are better than me also.
Without a good place to hunt, and consistant put deer on the ground it's tough.
Look at the guys on HNI who are and could be staffers
Hunsucker
Shedd33
Rybo
Huntingson
Kshunter
Kelly/KY
All are great guys, but all have great places to hunt. To me it's one of the main things one needs to be a staffer.
Not trying to be mean, is what it is.

The ability to CONSISTANTLY kill mature animals
The ingrediants for that ability are many and some certainly have more than others, but i think that is the MAIN thing companys look for. Obviously comapnys like RutJunkie and HB are looking for guys who do that on video.
In my opinion - Other companies (like broadhead companies, arrow companies...etc.) are looking for guys who kill a lot of deer and are respected and looked up to by other hunters in that area. They are hopeing that others will see that "Wow, John Doe kills a lot of big deer and he shoots Carbon Express Arrows, therefore if i get carbon express arrows so will I!"
...a little extreme, but i think thats basically it

After seeing how so many prostaffers get slammed on by internet posters, who'd want to do it anyway? Kill a big deer and people call you a p###y because you used 'all the fancy stuff'.
And good hunters have never had to hunt public land anyway, never will.

I can tell you guys ......from being in the golf industry ......that there are VERY few Asst. golf professionals in this country who AREN'T on some big name club mfr's "Pro Staff" (I was on 3 in 5+ years).
I was NEVER a "great" player in many of the circles I traveled in. BUT.....I had a front-row audience that bought clubs. If I was touting a certain brand......we seemed to sell more of those.
There are many levels of "pro staff". Nothing wrong with any way a company chooses to appoint those positions. they're doing it because they think that individual has something to offer them in exchange for (_______________).
It's a two lane street......a contract that benefits BOTH parties.

Ever run across some of these so-called 'pro staffers' at 3D shoots that act like their stuff don't stink and they're too good and pure to be spoken to? Same thing. I've seen staffers turn people off their sponsors' products because of their attitude, and their supposed function is actually to turn people onto them.
Trouble is one of them negates about 5 of the good ones.
