I took no offense to his comment. I've been bowhunting many years and this question was simply a "survey" to see what people actually did to get their bows up to them. I have other motives as to why I want to know.;)

My climber has two "hooks" kinda of like bicycle hooks for the garage, that attach on the side so I have both hands to climb and my bow goes with me! The "hooks" are on the right side of the climber (near the black pads).

That's pretty innovative!

It came from the manufacturer with the hooks. It's BY FAR the most comfortable stand I've ever put my butt in. Of course I've painted it so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

I have a summit viper with the wrap around bar. I tie one end of a rope to the bar and leave the bow on the ground. Then I hoist up the bow. I do, however, have a bow holder that would allow me to climb with my bow.

I have to admit, the biggest buck I saw last year while bow hunting busted me as I was pulling my bow up after climbing the tree. It was just before first shooting light. I ALWAYS survey the surroundings the best I can before I hoist up or lower whatever I'm hunting with. On this occasion, I failed to spot the buck approx 40yds away.
My gut feeling was he was watching me climb trying to figure out what I was or what I was doing and once he saw my bow "floating" thru the air, he got too frazzled and decided to scoot. |

It's called the Gunslinger and it's made by JRH Sport Industries. It's like sitting in the lazy boy at the house!

I leave mine on the ground, attached to a retractable hoist. Use the hoist for getting the bow, but also for height checking. Have a couple marks on the rope, and when it stops, I'm at 30'.
