I used a retractable hoist but found it to be too noisy. I've reverted back to a pull up rope (cord) and I have tied small knots in it every 10ft and it is also 30ft. The highest I typically go is 25ft though.

No, you tie the rope to your bow, climb up the tree, tie the other end around your neck and jump out of the tree...

i always loop a rope around it then i pull it up when i get everything else where i want it . then hang it and nock an arrow ,ready to hunt

Guys, I will back up NCRemingtons comments about the gunslinger treestands 100%. They are by far the most comfortable stands you will ever sit in. It is literally like strapping your lay-z-boy to the tree. About 5 years ago I use to work in a shop in Dothan Alabama that carried these treestands and we couldn't keep them in stock.

The back of the seat is adjustable so you can sit more upright or leaning back.

They also make one called the combow hunter that is a bit smaller and lighter in weight and you can either face the tree or face away from the tree.

Same as the others, rope attached to the bow sling, then bring it up when done securing the climber.

I have used a sling before too. I had a place where I had to walk a long way in so I had a sling on my bow. I could then keep it on my back when I climbed. Not sure that is the safest, but it works..

I take my quiver off and mount it on the bracket I installed on the left side of the stand. I usually use two quick disconnect straps to lash the bow to the other side of the stand and climb up with them....especially in snow and crap. I have a haul line permanently mounted in a little bag on the climber but usually go with the straps. Hang ons and ladders I always attach a haul line to the back of the seat when I put the stand in and adjust the length so when I hook the bow on it before I start climbing... it's hanging completely off the ground. When I'm done hunting I have the rope just the right length to have to stretch it to get it to hook over a step or climbing stick so it doesn't blow up in the tree tops when I'm gone.
