How many Mathews guys have we heard on here wishing they would redesign their grips? What about the strings they use? Why won't they switch to a better string and cable setup?

These are two areas I think they could improve upon to make a better bow and not cost themselves ANYTHING. This isn't a "cut" on the company....just a suggestion!
I completely agree! I cant tell you how many people complain about their grips( i know i cant stand them) and they end up putting an aftermarket on. Why cant they just listen to what the people want and redisign a more fitting grip?

Won't upgrading strings and cables cost quite a bit? I thought that is why a lot of bow manufacturers switched from top end strings and cables, to save money. I could be wrong.

Well....I'm "thinking" if you're WC....and a Co. like Mathews agrees to switch to your strings and cables EXCLUSIVELY......the added revenue generated by the GUARANTEED increase in sales of your product "might" make you give them a good price point.

I could be wrong, but it works that way in most industries.....

OR....you could be innovative like Bowtech....and put the $$ into R&D....make your own....and likely SAVE $$ in the long run.

But hey......I just build buildings

Sorry I had Bowtech string on my bow, no where near as good as WC IMO.
Mathews has not had the "cough cough" issues bowtech has had.

There both fine bows, I have shot them both. I like single cam bows I will admit the new ones shoot sweet

I didn't say the Bowtech strings were as good as WC....but IMO, they're FAR Superior to what comes on a stock Mathews.

Jeff,

You talking about the old Zebra strings or the newer Barracuda strings? I've got a set of the Barracuda strings and they have seemed to settle in just fine.

Maybe I am, John. Whatever was on my new '05 Switchback was junk. If they've upgraded....I wasn't aware (imagine).

But, Bowtech is getting the "best of both worlds", saving money (i'd suspect), and having a better string then most (namely mathews, hoyt etc) Am I wrong?

The new Barracuda strings are supposed to be pre stretched and have a better serving, like I said the one on my bow seems to have settled in pretty well. I have no inkling to change in after this season and if it shoots well through the off season I may even put the same kind back on when it is time to replace it. Time will tell.
