If I am looking for anything that requires a set up or advice, I defintiely go to the local guy. But if I am buying doe pee or scent killer, etc., I go to Walmart or Bass Pro. I will never go to Bass Pro again for anything that requires assembly or set-up. They messed up in a major way on me whenI was buying what I thought was a simple item: arrows.I knew what arrow I wanted, and went in a bought a dozen. But the fletchings they attached started coming off during practice and now the nocks started coming loose, as well. Took it to my local bow shop and he laughed and re-flectched them for me. Unfortunately, my "local" bow shop guy is 2 hours away, Bass Pro is ony an hour and Walmart is only 40 minutes.

Patti, under the guidelines you set....the local shop. It may cost a little more(not always), but in the long run you will get much better service. Like anything there are good and bad ones. If you find a great one then go there.

if it is setup thing i go to local guy, but for anything else i go to walmart and basspro, or gander.

i prefer the local guy for my bow questions problems tuning and accessories but for clothes and other item i just stop by the nearest cabelas

I buy my bows, arrows, rest, sights, ect from the local pro shop, because I like the high end stuff that the retail shops don’t carry. There is also the service that I receive too. I will go to Cables or Bass pro for clothing and tree stands because my pro shop does not carry them.
