If you have a complete pass through on a deer and your arrow is covered in blood is it a kill shot or not, regardless of where it passed through? (From base of neck to hind quarters.)

I'd say yes, with some exceptions of course. It may not be a quick death, but it's pretty likely it's a fatal wound.

Voted (Depends), Whitetails are tough, I wouldn't have believed it but they had lungs with broadhead scars on autopsys on doe taken off an island in NY on a controled bowhunt...it was in the book, Tracking Dogs for finding Wounded Deer by John Jeanenny or Heart and Blood by Richard Nelson, I forget which...

I would say no. A deer could be hit and survive whether it be a pass thru or not

just as in humans getting shot and living, if nothing vital is hit, or the wound quickly clots, the will to survive will likely keep it going.
