In your opinion what type of wood makes the best box call.

I was thinking of hickory.

What do you think.

Or is another wood better ?

I have made two.

The sides was made with cherry.
The bottom and ends and top was made with maple.

They sound pretty good.

Cherry is second fav

So many depending on design and wood combos etc.....River Valley just came out with a box call with Orange Ossage and Butternut...a boat paddle with fantastic sound....Little Hedge Hen.

Again, the combo and design.
