I don't see the big deal in this.... except it probably does no good or serves any purpose to post it here. Perhaps, if you really got to know the PM route would be better. That said, I've been bowhunting since 1971. In that time I've killed over 80 deer. You can count on one hand the losses I've had. I remember every one very vividly. It sucks and makes you want to do better. You can go for years without a mishap and then have a couple in a hurry. It's truly humbling. After reading these boards for the past few years it seems we have more and more. I think a lot of it is a result of poor field skills and stretching our limits. Everyone wants to "Score" and post their success or something. There are tons of great shooters but a lot less great hunters.

But I won't say how many I have lost, cause I am scared my luck will change and it can easily. Come back at the end of the season and ask

The post is one thing, the poll is another. Consider that many would fill out the poll and never post showing the low percentage but the numbers wouldn't show that, just high numbers, tell me one good thing that could come from that?
1 in 20 doesn't look like bad numbers but showing the tally of hundreds or even thousands of posters won't reflect that, just a pathetic tally. Sorry, not going to watch that happen.

If you want to learn what to do in these situations, read the "what to do after the shot" thread at the top of the bowhunting page. There is so much great information there. Every year I take at least one gun hunter under my wing and teach them to bowhunt, and I print that thread and make them read it first thing.
Yes, it happens, but keep in mind this site has grown to be aHUGE thing and we all know there are anti's lurking about just looking for ammunition for their cause.

I have bow hunted for 2 years and havent lost one (only shot two). I have been with three diferent people who have lost three different deer though. Really a bad feeling when you cant find a wounded animal.
