blood trails will disappearvery quickly inheavy rain. Be EXTRA careful with your shot selection.

You know, I just picked up some Gander Mountain Guide Series Tech2O rain gear this last weekend, and I'm really looking forward to hunting in the rain soon now. I've never had any gear that was even water resistant and always just hunted anyhow and got wet, this stuff should make it a pleasure to be out there.

I like hunting in a light rain/drizzle. I won't hunt in a steady, non stop rain, unless the rut is on.

I don't mind the rain at all. As a matter of fact I kind of like it. Last year, on Wednesday of the last week of archery it rained fairly hard and steadyand I had two close encounters. One wasa super wide andthe other ahigh basket eight. I also saw a number of doe moving at the end of the day. Aside from that, I had whatisnormally a crowded public area compleatly to myself. Bring on the rain.

I have always liked hunting in the rain(my scent doesn't carry and I can slip in quieter) but I usually switch over to rifle or shotgun because of tracking purposes and also I do not mind if my gun gets a little wet but I've never really liked for my bow equipment to get very wet. I usually shoot feathers but will switch to shrink fletch vanes if I think it might rain but what about my bow? I keep my string waxed but i have never been exactly sure about what you can lube on a bow and what should not get any lube on it? My drive time is about 45 min. so I can't dry my bow off right away with a hair dryer or anything like that. Any advice??

I will firearm hunt in the rain but I don't bowhunt in it. I have seen too many blood trails that were really hard to follow and when you add rain to the equation it's just bad juju. I would rather wait for it to stop raining or just go another day.
