This is my first time ever trying to hunt a turkey. I have called in turkeys before just messing around but never with the intent to kill. All season it has been raining here and everytime I go out I never hear anything. I did hear the other day that a gobbler won't gobble in or right after a rain. Is that true? Ony suggestions on hunting in the rain?

My first year also. Ive had some rain experience. Thetirkeys we saw in the rain were standing on the green strips you see on cornfields.\, about 50yds in. No gobbling. Next time I would set up a tent blind near one of these strips with a single hen and wait.

Yea they gobble before , during & after the strom.
They shock gobble at the crack of thunder & they will be out in the open field than under the cover of trees & brush.
Make sure you have some type silent rain wear & set up on the edge of a field , call at your desgertion.
Good luck
