best place to hunt during the rut
ok where is the best place to hunt during the rut ? ok good food source, funnels,ridges,near thickets, and if someones has a better type of place please let me know. im not sure where bucks usally chasing does.

Definately hunt where the does are, want to be and travel. The bucks will be there looking, traveling and running BUT, what part of the rut are you asking about. There are certain phases of the rut that you want to hunt different than the others.

Our best rut stand the last few years is in a lone tree in the middle of a grown up secluded field. My dad sawseven bucks in a few hours one day last year. He arrowed a very big9 point there. My brothers and I were in the woods and saw nothing. It was on the next to the last day of the archery season, around November 12, I believe.
Another hint is that when the does are getting chased, they like open woods, so that they don't feel trapped by all the bucks chasing them.
Find a major trail in open woods or grown up fields.
