Hey guys, by no means am I new to hunting deer, but with all of these new calls out it has me wondering what I have been missing. I am 20 years old, and I've hunted since I was 11. I've taken 5 bucks in my 9 seasons, and I spend alot of time in the woods. Up until this year I have had "The Can" , a grunt, and a rattle bag in my arsenal. I went to dicks the other day and now I see calls like the deer growl, the snort wheeze, and the buck roar... This may sound ridiculous but I have no idea what these sounds are. I have looked up a bit about the buck roar/growl and i think those two calls are about the same. I've heard deer snort in the woods, but it usually indicates fear and then is followed by the deer fleeing the area. So why would I want to do a snort at a deer? What does it sound like..? Same question for the wheeze.. what exactly is it? and when should i use it..??

I've looked around and heard good things about the buck roar, so i'm looking into getting that within the next few days.. Would like to hear some input on what all these other calls are.. thanks..

buck roar/growl ared the same...a snort weez is a buck challege to another buck....it is a simple thing you can make without a call...look up snort weez and you should be able to find a clip of the sound

its all gimics... lets be honest out of all the time in the woods how many times have you heard a snort n wheez.... I do it for aliving and can count on one hand how many times I have heard it.... To me a call is like throwing the ball in football 3 things can happen two are not good. Stay quite, play the wind, and know what your deer are doing during each time of the year and plan accordingly

I actually am carrying a huge arsenal of calls this year... I think I have the entire MAD Call lineup.

My wife seen the videos at Gander and decided I had to have all of them. I have been carrying the same Primos grunter, can and rattle bag for years.

I am hunting some of the best land in the state of Michigan this year with more record bucks than any other county so if I get stiffed..... well, I'll blame it on my wife.... She bought me the calls...... LOL

I tried to show her a video of the Diamond Black ICE but, she wasn't buying into that one...........

They are all new sounds the deer just started making last year.They were getting tired of just grunting, so they started roaring and growling too!!!
