"the honey hole"
#1
seeing as how ive never posted pics of my "honey hole" and im always talkin of the place, figured id throw up some pics for those interested.
first time i took pics of the area actually....
here ya go...sorry....no deer...my digital camera makes an aweful noise when i turn it on when the lense comes out...but did see a 1.5yo buck today. he almost got thwacked...till i noticed he had 3 on top and no browtine on that side...other side had 2 and a legal browtine...go figure lol. gotta have 4pts that are atleast 1" to be legal...
sun coming up over the hill this morning

kinda hard to see...but theres a hard used trail running the ridge going up the small hill there..im kinda in a saddle..i know i know..get up on the hillside dummy!! but its a jungle...and they generally usually filter right by my stand..seeing how its a cluster of oaks that drop hard..buck this morning came right down that trail

to the left...where the buck this morning munched acorns..

to the front/right out of the stand..last saturday i was in one of the cherry trees on the right..the buck i seen last saturday came out of that thick stuff ontop of the hill...caught a monster and another buck cruising that thick stuff last rifle season but couldnt get a shot. my lock on is on the other side of the thick stuff...i save that for evening hunts...

straight out of the stand. last year i was 1 tree to the right from the tree im in today...but you can see the thick stuff to the left with a "lane" to the right..just left of the 2 trees...the buck i got a shot at last year came from behind me/right and i got my shot in that lane...right about 20yds away..just above that big limb in the pic...the buck i seen last saturday came out of that thick stuff and followed that trail up around to the left to the first trail coming off the ridge..then turned around and went back up the little hill..

hope you enjoy the view of the PA woods in the fall!! afraid we might not get a good color changed this year...so hot and dry they are falling off green!!
that spot and my lock on are in the only 2 hard wood and "open" areas on the ridge. its just a 100yd wide, 300-400yd long ridge...hard woods mixed with a good bit of pines...straight out the other end is a road..to the left is corn and alfalfa with a SUPER thick nasty edge..to the right is a NASTY red brush and jagur field...and behind me is pines and a soybean field...
