I am considering purchasing one of these stands. The main reason for the purchase would be due to the ability to set up mult. stand locations with the tree brackets and put the stand into which ever tree bracket you had set for the wind and conditions. I have a climber, but am sick of every place I want to hunt the trees are not straight. I also like the fact that I could hunt a tree that was leaning because you could level the platform.
Both stands appear to be similar in weight, function, platform size.
The bear river is notably nicer but also $40 more. Tree brackest for the cableas are $20 ea. but look easy to make.
Which stand would you choose?

btomlin, i have the cabelas ez hang and also the bear river pro hunter! get the cabelas ez hang. very stable stand to say the least. also it doesn't squeak!!!! sumthin to look into also the seat hieght on the bear river is a little bit high for me and end up sitting with my feet dangling, not sumthin that makes me feel ne more safer. but the cabelas has helped kuz the leveling platform, many trees have i been able 2 sit in because of that feature. plus its a lot cheaper but a very well made stand.

I was looking for the exact same thing- a bracket stand. I think it makes all the sense in the world if you 1) hunt a lot, 2) hunt the same areas all season but don't want to get your stands stolen.
After doing some research, I was debating between the Chippewa Wedge-Lock and the Screaming Eagle. Then, by accident, I realized the Lone Wolf also has a bracket option (they do a piss poor job of marketing this fact). I think the Lone Wolf is by far the nicest bracket stand. It's the lightest, has lots of nice features (like the built in bow holder), and you can custom order the seat height. They have a very loyal following- everyone who uses them seems to love them. I'm getting one stand and 5 or 6 brackets for next season...

I was also considering the lone wolf.
I have a few questions as I have not seen one of these stands.
What is a "versa-button" and what does it do? I am guessing it tightens the stand to the tree but I have no idea.
Also, there was a website floating around that sold treestands. I think it was "autumn" something.

There are several companies that make bracket stands in addition to the ones listed above. Summit, Aerospace, Buckshot and Trailhawk are the ones that pop up in my mind. Personally, I like the Chippewa and the Screaming Eagle stands the best. Chippewa and Buckshot will send you a video of their stands. The Chippewa video is very impressive.

I went with the API Magna-LOK stand. Big platform, light and uses a T-screw. Very easy to put up and I bought mine for 79.00. My boss turned me onto them and that's the only hang on I buy now.
