Weather does play a role to movement. But you have to remember the process for the rut. These bucks have been through winter, spring, summer. And didn't find any "LOVE". They know the time is close. They are gonna be moving for the next 5 weeks.

Simple to understand. You got 5 weeks to get your game on. You gonna lay around or get in the game? Good Luck and hunt with confidence.

I wish it would cool off to 75 here in NC, we set a record, 60 days at or above 90 this summer, it's rained twice since the 4th of July...

I killed my first doe of the season the first evening, temp was about 85 when I got in the tree...Went this afternoon, hit 90 again today, I saw 8 deer...

[align=left]During hot weather I like to go out in the mornings. Had all night to reach a low temp and deer seem to be moving. Really like to hit it before a front or after. Killed two doe in the past two weeks of PA's early archery antlerless season. Scouted alot this past summer and noticed deer still move pretty well in a lighter rain but hunker down when it comes down hard.

A moving barometer is one of the best deer motivators I can think of other than the rut, do the morning.

I'm like nchawkeye, I wish the temperatures around here would be 70 - 75 degrees. Try hunting in 90 degree weather for awhile. Regardless of how hot it is, deer have to move sometime. There have been several killed around my area even with the high temps. I would prefer lower temps but you cant do much about the weather so get out there and enjoy yourself.

It's been really warm here too. It's supposed to cool off by tomorrow so hopefully that will help. Now if that full moon would just go away!
