Is there a place for new people on HNI

Oh I understood what your saying JNTURK but as is we have a Bowhunting Forum, Technical Forum and Review Forum. The review forum isn't used the way it's intended, the Tech forum gets treestand questions when that's bowhunting and if we made the forum requested, and I don't mean disrespect to anyone particular, most of the advice that would be given would be incorrect. There's no way of keeping out those that have no business answering the questions at hand and with multiple forums they'd get lost anyway. Some may slip through the cracks in this forum but for the most part, I think the majority get answered, and usually the incorrect of misinformation is weeded out. And there is nothing stopping a newbie from bumping their post if it didn't get answered or making a new one.

In the 8 months that I've been here the only questions I see ignored are the ones that are confusing or only ask part of a question or ask none at all but want some sort of answer. Ask a direct question and get a direct answer. There is no such thing as a stupid question but there is such a thing as a confusing one and poeople will ignore a question if they aren't sure what's even being asked.
Any technical questions a person has should be asked in the tech section and they'll get a good response.

Thats a great Idea. Lets get the ball rolling on this one! Move it to the top of the list. I think a Newbie section would be a great addition to the site. I would love to volunteer to answer any question for new comers to the archery world. And anything I cant answer Im sure others could.

I am still a fairly new 'newbie.' I have learned great things from this forum.
I agree the idea of a newbie section is nice, but if just anyone is allowed to post an answer to the newbie's question, you would have the same thing you currently do. So, if there is a way to allow only certain people to post a response, it might work they way it is intended.
Something else that might work just as good is a section that highlights most frequently asked questions...that most newbies are interested in, by linking them to good opinions that have been previously posted.
Either way, it will be a lot more work and it still may not be what it was intended to be and a newbie will be just as lost. Great idea though!!
Had I not known anything about bows, arrows, or hunting, I don't know what my experience would have been like. I was able to decide for myself what was BS and what wasn't.
Yes, I heard alot of information and ideas that have never been considered in my local network of 'experts' but I took it those thoughts back, looked into it further (either more reading or actually testing a new product) to draw my own conclusions. It was not hard for me to decide who was giving good advice and who's was not so good. But I allowed my thought processes to go outside the 'traditional teachings' of my friends. My husband, his friend, and now my cousin are all very greatful for the information learned here. I have improved upton their skills by learning what modifications to their equipment can do (like feathers verse vanes, etc). This forum even helped me get my husband's bow fixed when the proshop said it the problem was normal and nothing they could do about it.
This forum gives a ton of great new information to newbie's but with enough time, they should not be lost or confused. But it takes more than 30 -60 minutes on the computer to do so, that's with anything new you are trying to research not just archery.

2 1/2 years ago idecided i wanted to begin huntingand i joined this site. I now hunt by centerfire rifle, bow and muzzleloader. I was new to each one of these disciplines and asked a lot of questions here to get started.
Honestly, I never needed another site and always was able to find someone or several people here to explain in laymans terms what i was looking for.
There are lots of opinions on products, and methods on here. But if someone was to give me just plain old wrong advice the rest of the guys would have been all over that
