I have narrowed my choices down to these two. Anyone have experience with the US. I have read several posts about the ST. I have a buddy who shot two field points with a 1/2 inch apart then shot the US between the two and cut the fletchings off of both. I have long been a fan of expandables but would like to try a fixed if I could get them to shoot like these.

Let's just put it this way , I've used the slick Trick's and after today I'm sticking with them. I bought some new Muzzy's and went out to set them up today getting ready for this season's moose hunt . I had my fieldpoint's shooting bullet's at 20,30,40and 65yrds . I then tried the muzzy's and I was all over the place mostly about 8"low and to the right ,didn't matter whatI did I couldn't get the muzzy's to fly a whole lot better other than starting from scratch .Amnd this wasn't the time to get into that since I leave on fri.I had my Slick Trick's in the house ,so I grabbed 2 of them and shot at all these range's, and shot the same as my field point's the 65yrd was a little low ,but it is now an easy fix . I'll never doubt the theory of the Slick Trick's flying like fieldpoint's ,because they do fly really true compared to the muzzy's . At least with my setup.

both are great choices and ive seen deer taken with both, both shoot really well, this is one time when i think id just look at what one is cheaper cause there is really no bad choice. if you like expandables and dont want to make the jump to fixed (i never will) try the steelhead from rocket its basically the US but expandable. ive shot them for years and never had any issues with them i actually shot 3 or 4 deer one year with one head just reasharpend the blade, two of the deer i shot through both shoulder blades.

Both should fly well. The ST has more cutting surface to the blades, and interlocking blades that can't fall out. The newer STs are also very, very sharp. I have never seen or used the Ultimate Steel, so I can't comment on them.

One of my hunting buddies used the Rocket US for the past couple of years with pretty good results. The small head is very likely to pass through even large game like elk. And, depite the smaller cutting area, they seemed to result in an animal on the ground within 150 yards. But the way the blades are secured in the head is a little flimsy. He went to the G5 Montec this year and says no going back.

I wouldn't give you a nickle for ultimate steel heads. The blade retention is extremely fragile and the little tabs that fit under the washer break very easily.
Yes they are sharp and made of steel but if it won't keep blades in the furrel on hard bone hits then what good are they?
The ST's are miles ahead of the US's. If you want a vewry small head that flys great use the NAP nitrons. About the same size as the US but a much beter head.

I have both heads. Both fly very well and hit right with field tips.
The blade retention on the US is really bad.
I had two heads that had a blade fall out of them when carrying them in my hip quiver.
I just got the ST a week ago and I'm very impressed.
I'd pick the ST over the US just because of the blade retention issue.
