It depends on a few things - 15 feet and below, I'm usually never afraid. Above 15 feet or so, it depends if what I'm in feels secure. If I'm in a solid stand with my harness attached, I'm fine up to 25 or 30 feet. If the stand or tree is shaky, or if I'm climbing up or down without my harness attached, then it makes me nervous.

Yeah, I'm afraid of heights. I'm usually OK up to 20' but above that I get nervous. I also can get higher in stands that have front rails.

I'd say I'm cautious of heights. I feel OK with my safety harness on 15-20 feet up, esspecially when I'm seated, but I feel much better if I can put some part of my leg/hip against something solid (seat, tree, armrest, etc.). I guess it'sa three point stability psychology thing.

I used to hate heights so much that I went out and bought a Double Bull gound blind when they first came out because I figure I would never hunt out of a stand. Then one year I picked up a ladder stand just to see what it was like and have never looked back. I am still a little nervous but because of the advantages over hunting from the ground I can live with it. Now I hunt anywhere from 15' to 30' and use every type of stand.

My fear subsides when I strap into my harness. Until then, I'm a little skiddish, but not anywhere near "terrified." I've hunted 30 feet in the air before, and that is a long ways up there.

The tree top swaying with the wind makes for a fun ride too.
