My father will not let me continue my food plots.
He has moved back from Seattle and is from the old school. He just retired from the fur business. I wrote last fall in this forum how well the last five years have been with my plots. Our first 6 years produced only 3 known big bucks(2 killed by neighbors on our land with permission and one that we all saw running in a feild). The last 2 years we have seen, with the help of a trail camera, 4 big bucks and one taken by my nephew last year. You might say that if we had the trail camera during the down years we would have seen more but the first 3 years of the food plots I had a camera and we had zero pics of big deer. And with those first years with the camera I took tons of pictures compared to now where I am being selective of when I put the camera out.
I could tell all this to my father and I still feel he wouldn' t care.
All I can do is try......

What are his reasons for not liking food plots? Does he think it' s baiting?
If you don' t plant things like apples and oaks, is there going to be enough natural regeneration in your area to let his grandchildren hunt?

He is a dysfunctional father. Rarely speaks to his grandchildren. Everything he says is right. Just a huge battle with him.
It was great when he was out west.
