Nighttime is the way to go. Lighting up the eyes lets you see animals that you would miss in the daytime. They are also more active at night. They aren't that tough to handle using a rope noose, you just have to go slow and not try to man-handle them. I would think shooting them with an arrow would only excite them and make them harder to handle. I learned how to catch them from a parks guy in New Orleans. They had to go get them off the golf courses when there were too many of them or when one became a nuisance.
