It's legal here in Louisiana. I will usually set up one stationary stand with a feeder, but that's mainly for my mom and sister-in-law who don't like climbers. I'll hunt it if I need to kill a doe for meat. But like the others stated, the big boys don't seem to come to them during the day.

It's legal in Louisiana and most hunters use them here. There is usuallyno advantage hunting afeeder if you want to kill a good buck though. I have a couple out this year, but don't rely on them by any means. I keep them going to feed the deer and turkeys through the winter. I have to stop feeding fifteen days before turkey season opens. I usually try to take two does with my bow, one off a feeder and one at a different stand without a feeder. Out of my 30 years of deer hunting, I have never taken a large buck over a feeder, so when I am hunting for a buck, I don't hunt a feeder. Just like some of you said, a big buck is not going to be caught at a feeder during daylight hours, except maybe in Texas.

The only time a good buck will come to a feeder in the daytime is during the rut.l hunt over corn(not feeders) and/or food plots while i still-hunt all season. People who dont provide food sources around my area usually hunt in WMAs or just don't ever harvest any bucks.

Baiting to my knowledge is not allowed in Washington state or Montana, the two states that I hunt in.

Cabela's sure sells a lot of different kinds and feeds. Personally I don't know that it would work for Elk hunting since their range is so much broader than a white tail, although I have seen salt licks in use that elk come in to.

Heck the so-called animal lovers in Washington voted to outlaw hunting cougars and bears with dogs.. and now their populations are exploding. They also voted to outlaw gripping traps of any kind for any animal. The funny part is it applies to not so happy fuzzy creatures like moles.... so the animal lovers have to live with moles digging up their lawns on their million dollar McMansions...hahahahahahahahahaha!

Feeders are also legal in Texas... but what bubbahoo18 said.. usually the big boys don't venture in during the day (They know better than that).Bucks do though check for does aroundthem during the rut.

Yes, it's legal.

No I dont do it.......but only because I think it's easier to hunt deer without engaging in the practice.
cheaper too.

Not legal in Minnesota.
