Great pic Dan, and beautiful wife. I've found that moisture seems to make a tremendous difference in the quality of these natural licks. This year there has been virtually no moisture. It's frustrating.

What often looks like a natural mineral lick in idaho...Was initially 200 lbs of rock salt 10 yearsprior.. LOL I found a wicked one.. a few days ago scouting a new mountain, its been around for years and is a huge crator like you guys are showing..elk, deer and moose tracks all over it..Here it could be cattle based orignally since this area is a heavily used open cattle range spot, but do to its location I am pretty sure its was man-ip-ulated..for wapati

It is like a HUGE rock or hill of some mineral and you can see where the deer scrape, lick, and kneel down in it.

I thought that at first as well, because of where it is located. But....I have some maps that the logging companies and MNR have out that specifially mark these areas as natural minerals.

I'll get some more pics in a few hours of the other ones.

I second the trail camera idea!
