Well this will be my third year bowhunting, and I am still looking for my first bow kill. My first year I went with a friend simply to learn. Last year, I drew back on two fawns opening day, but didnt let the arrow go, i guess I am a good guy (jk). Then the last week of the season, not expecting to have anything come into bow range, a doe walked to 25 yards quickly on me, I was so surprised I forgot to pick what pin to use, I ended up using the 20 yard and send it just under her belly. I am grateful I have had the oppurtunity to harvest these animals, I just havnt been ready. This year I am shooting the best I ever have (very efficient at 15,20,25 yards) and I am looking forward to getting on stand. My first priority is to get a doe with my bow...then, I am after some bucks. I am in college so dont get to hunt a lot or get to scout much, but I am ready and cant wait for the upcoming season.
Third times a charm!

Hopefully we'll both get our first this year.I just started late last year and only got out a few times. Saw deer each time, but not within range or not a clear shot.Except for the buck that snuck up on me while I was sitting up against a fence post with my bow at my feet[:@]

LMAO...That's funny.....I say that same thing every year! Read my signature! I started bow hunting in 1998. Igot severly injured2 days before the season started and hadto miss the whole hunting season that year. In 2001, I finally got a button buck and last year I got a doe. Last yearI bought my first new bow which meant I no longer had any excuses. I've missed at least 1 buck every year for one reason or another. The most misses per year is4 and one year I missed the same buck twice. The reasonsareeverything from buck fever to a frozen peep. Keep hoping, it's a wonderful sport that takes a lot of practice and even more patience.

This will also be my 3rd year hunting and I am still waiting on my first bow kill. I got a shot on a doe opening day last year but the blood trail just disapeared. We had people looking from 7:00 in the morning till 9:00 that night for that deer and we just couldnt find her. I was so dissapointed. I did get a nice oppportunity at a nine point later on but I aimed too low and sent the arrow right under him.
I did manage to find my doe a couple months later in a big brushy pile, not much left after the coyotes got to her, but she was probably only 100 yards from my stand. Hopefully I have better luck this year.
