LUCKY GUY
I made the trip home this afternoon to get some things done at the farm. While I have been studying diligently at school my grandpa has been hard at work on the "cabin" at the new farm. This is simply put my favorite place in the world. I am one lucky guy to have a place such as this. On our trip Dad and I checked the food plots that were planted a week ago and see how the overall project was progressing. My mom tagged along and went on a 10 mile bike ride. I lack intelligence and forgot my camera back at school. To saw that I was upset would be an understatement. I NEVER (ok, hardly ever) leave my camera behind. For some odd reason we didn't have any camera at home, so I was going to rely on my mom's Iphone camera - a whooping 2 megapixels! So, ahead of time, I apologize for the shaky pictures! HOWEVER, I want everyone to know that i DID obey the "man law" of taking pictures.
Here is our recently installed cistern. 1500 gallon cement tank in the ground here...
Here is a picture of the main room. Some cabinets are hung, but we have yet to decide on a floor...
The paneling with cedar trim....
One of the three 10x10 bedrooms...
The wall we decided on for the mural...
A view of the west side...
Some growth! However, I am not sure what it is. Anyone have a guess?
Thankfully, deer tracks were very abundant!
It didn't take long for the resident turkeys to find a place to dust! This beautiful wing feather was laying out in the middle of one of the fields. Shortly before this, we heard a fall gobble! Yehaw!
Early this spring I searched high and low for a shed antler. No dice. Father happened apon this small one tonight I assume the disk picked it up. I then took this picture.
The trip was an absolute blast. Deer and turkey sign everywhere. Beautiful weather. Today was the first day that I noticed "fall" in the air. The leaves were a bit wilted, corn beginning to brown, soybeans tinting to the infamous yellow. Needed a sweatshirt at dusk.. Boys, it's getting close and I can HARDLY stand it!
All in all, we saw:
13-Deer
2-coveys of quail
1-Blue Heron
1-Hummingbird in the garage!
I am one blessed cat.

Cool Willie, the place is really coming along. I see lots of progress since I visited you a couple of weeks ago.
I believe the little sprout is a turnip or brassica.
Sounds like a wonderful trip.
Give me a hollar whenever you want paybacks on that free lunch.
And when you gonna upload your avatar? Teammate
