RE: Do southern deer really duck faster?
The whitetail deer in the southern states below the northern most teir of northern part ofthe state ofMissouri. Everything to the south of the loacation mentionedabovedoes have a genetic make up that enables them to be able to duck or squat or drop but, they do not have the ability tojump the arrow as easy as the deer in the northern sector above the northern most part ofMissouri. I could explain a little more in detail but do not havetime needed to do so in a timely manner.
The reason is because the deer in the south are shorter. |

Everyone that thinks you can out shoot everybody else that you have never shotwith or against, if you are looking for a pat on the back well go ahead a pat your self on the back. There that should be enough. Now go miss that deer this fall.

Southern deer are definitely smaller. I just about busted a gut trying to get my first PA buck into the back of my pickup by myself. I have missed more NC deer than PA deer, but I hope I am just getting better...or at least my equipment is. I started with a Bear Whitetail II bow...I have a Switchback now...big difference. Seriously, after analyzing shots on many DVD's, I think that the alertness of the deer is the primary factor in jumping the string. I have seen deer drop 6 to 8 inches in 3-4 frames of a DVD with the arrow in the picture.
