Rick;

MeanV2 (his handle on archerytalk, just like mine is swampcollie and yours is rickmur) makes these string suppressors/string stoppers. Just like that carbon rod you see on Ross Cardiacs and the new Hoyts, and the STS which has been around for a while. MeanV just gives it a nice clean look, adds a bow jax and will make it EXACTLY to your measurement specifications. All he needs is the measurement from the bushing on the back end of the stabilizer hole on your bow, to the inside of the string. His CSS (Custom String Suppressor) sells in black for $34 TYD and in camo (pattern of your choosing) for $44 TYD. Turnaround time is about 3 weeks normally, but I got mine in about 2.

As you can see from his thread, which is now on page 44 at 40 posts per page...they are pretty popular.

Here's a picture of the one he made for me on my HCA Iron Mace.

I do not use string silencers on my switchback. No need.

Do the string and limb silencers slow down the bow? In other words, why take them off in the first place?
Will,

I found that after taking the string silencers off the sound of my bow changed. It was more high pitched (twangy) with the silencers on and I believe a little louder. Afterwords it was a low pitched sound.

Thanks for the info,

I've got two items to get in the next 3 months: (1) Mean V, and (2) Slick Tricks.
What budget?

Dont know if your aware of it but Meanv2 (Dan) also sells Slick Tricks.

Also meanV2 has recently became a member here at HNI.
