MeanV CSS - string leeches/whiskers or no?

For those of you with the MeanV CSS:

I just ordered my MeanV CSS. I do not have any string suppressors (leeches, whiskers etc) on my Allegianceright now. Do I need to install the string leeches or is this thing so good that I won't need the string-attached suppressors?

I put one on my 2006 Tribute and I removed my cat whiskers and factory string silencers. Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry quiet bow; shoots superbly. I am impressed with the Mean V2 to say the least and have not seen any negative results from putting it on my bow.

I have an STS on my 05 Allegiance that I love and shoot with no string silencers. I just received my CSS yesterday for my Drenalin that also has nothing on the string and all I can say is WOW! You don't need anything on the string. Great product.

When I used it on my Switchback, I didn't use any string leaches or strings, as I felt the MeanV CSS and built in Mathews stoppers were plenty.

Do the string and limb silencers slow down the bow? In other words, why take them off in the first place?

Yes they slow the bow speed down,2 to 6fps acccording to my Bowtech owners manual. The biggest slow down factor, according to my manual, is a Rubberband peep; 6-10 fps.

I had them in until I got my CSS from meanv, then the leeches came out. There was no difference in sound with the CSS whether or not the leeches were there...but putting that CSS on stopped some extra vibrations that the leeches did not.

I'd sack anything on the string regarding sound suppression once that CSS arrives.

Thanks for the info,

I've got two items to get in the next 3 months: (1) Mean V, and (2) Slick Tricks.
What budget?

I've got a meanv2 css on my XT and have no leeches on my string. Bought the css so I could keep the leeches/wiskers off my bow. Don't think I'll need them on for bowhunting

Thanks. I'll plan to remove my leeches when the CSS arrives.
