In Eastern MT. Along the yellowstone. I let 2 140 class deer pass right by me. Earlier that evening I had what I thought was a booner at 50 yards and being that it was night 2 of 5 I wanted another crack at him. Saw lots of big deer on that trip, but came home only with memories.
Fixed that in 2006 and shot a nice 130 class on the 1st evening. Then went on to a successful pronghorn hunt.
E. Montana is the greatest.

I honestly didn't know that this many folks actually could pass ANY bucks, especially anything older than a basket racked yearling. To say I'm extremely proud of most of you would be a serious understatement. CONGRATS to all of you who have worked so hard and I hope all your efforts are rewarded this season!
Do any of you have any photos of these passed deer as they walked by?

I passed on one a few years back on a draw hunt here in Texas. The rules for the hunt is that they had to have at least five points on one side. This deer was coming straight at me at 300 yards, hot on the trail of a doe. I couldn't tell if the buck had five points on one side because he wouldn't turn. His rack was well past his ears and very high. He jumped the fence on to some private property without turning fully, so I was never able to see his head gear fully. My BIL was about a 100 yards behind me with a rifle that wouldn't reach that far, but through the scope the was able to tell that it was at least a 160+ class(and that's what I thought too).

Mine was a older main frame 8 point with split G2's which made it a 10 pointer but we have an antler restrictionin our county that has to be 13 inches wide and I thought he was leagal but didnt want to take a chancesoI passed hopefullyI will see him next year because it was late in the season!
