I think that it will depend on whether or not your trees had bloomed before the cold snap. Around my house the trees hadn't bloomed yet and now that it's warmed up my oak trees are blooming big time so I figure that in my part of WV the acorns should be OK.

Red oaks have acorns consistantly every year and white are every other year i believe.

You're mistaken, Red Oaks don't give up acorns every year, they may have them a coupleyears in a row, but not "every" year. Also,I've seen certain White Oaks(mature) not have acorns for 2-3 years in a row, no lie.

Does anyone know when the acrons startthe cycle, is it later after the leaves get through coming out? To me it seems like it would be.
