I took my new arrows to the range Saturday. I went to to a different pro shop than where I bought my Drenalin. The guy showed me that my rest was mounted 3/8" too high, so he adjusted it down,re-tied the loop, paper tuned it, and then we sighted it in.I also had him crank the limb bolts all the waydown for a draw weight of 74 pounds. I also found out that the arrows are 28", not 28 1/2". For the couple of folks who wanted to know how fast the arrows would shoot at 70 pounds, it was 256 fps. So, here are the adjusted specs:

Arrow: Gold Tip Pro Hunter Hardwoods HD 7595
Shaft Length" 28"
Arrow spine: .300
F.O.C.: 11%
Fletching: 4" Duravanes
Broadheads: 125 Grain G-5 Montecs
Bow draw weight: 74#
Draw length: 29"
Total arrow weight: 475.5 grains

After shooting three arrows through the chronograph, the arrow speed with 475.5 grains is 270 fps. That'll do nicely.
I have some questions, but I'll put them in another post. Just wanted to answer a couple of you who wanted to know how fast they flew.

Amazing how much difference there is between pro shops. 3/8" is quite a bit to move the arrow rest. Where is it now in relation to the Berger button on the arrow shelf?

THAT'S WHAT IT'S CALLED!!!
I looked online for almost an hour this morning to find what that thing was called, but couldn't find it! When I went in Saturday, the arrow, when at full draw, rested about 3/16" above the top of the berger button. Now, it's aligned with it. I looked in the Easton tuning guide, but it didn't reference the recommended height. Where is it supposed to be????

Well, I usually start out with the rest set so that the center of the arrow is level with the center of the Berger button. And then set the nocking point 3/16" to 1/4" above the point at which the arrow would be square with the string at this setting. Then fine tune from there.

Thanks for the reply. I guess that's strike two for the guy who set my bow up. I guess having the bottom of the arrow 3/16" above the top of the berger button would be way too high then.

Some dropaways like to be set higher than what a person would think=1/4" higher than prong rests--i think that's to compensate for the rest laying on top of the shelf, when it drops you don't have enough clearance otherwise.

True. I always wanted to see a slow mo video of the arrow coming off of a fall away rest. Wonder just how much the arrow keeps falling as the rest drops out from under it.

That makes perfect sense. I took a really close look at mine and I still have clearance. Not much, but it's still clear. As soon as the guy told me it needed to be lowered, that was my first question.

That's something I'd like to see as well. I would think that at that point the arrow is already on it's way and there would be almost no drop.
